based on this time last year Andrew Luck had a quarterback rating of 72 with a completion of 53%... and was hailed as the best rookie simply because of wins. RG3 has the worst defense and special teams in the entire NFL, coming off injury has put up much better numbers than Luck in his rookie season throwing the ball. I dont wanna glorify terrible stats, but when you think about it all 3 of the qb's you just named are still playing better than Luck did last year WITHOUT the read-option. I saw Terrelle Pryor in his 5th start not use the read-option at all and tear up the Chargers... maybe these mobile qb's can actually throw the ball. And Kaepernick is playing with wr's who cant get open besides Vernon Davis and an occasional pushoff from Boldin. Wilson will get his o=line men back later in the year and some addition on offense. If these 3 are playing badly by your standards than what was Andrew Luck last year

btw to me playing= turning the ball over a lot

which is basically right now Gabbert, Ponder, Weeden and Geno Smith etc, fyi Geno Smith has about the same stats as Luck this time last year( turnovers included), same w/l record as well

I'm not saying there aren't factors for them struggling (there definitely are), but the undeniable truth is that all 3 haven't been as good as they were last year. Still, we're five games into the year, and as the situations improve for all 3, they should improve as well.

I'm a huge fan of Kaep, Wilson, RG3 and Luck. I think all four are the future of the NFL (mobile quarterbacks who can create with their legs but still deliver a damn good football, even if the read-option isn't working).

I feel good after seeing this list. A lot of talent to be had.

At this pace, we'll end up with a decent pick. Either way, we have to take a QB in the first.

ORRR pick an O-lineman in the 1st, a MLB in the 2nd, a TE in the 3rd, and a QB in the 4th or 5th. No way the Texans are bold enough to take a QB early.

    WHAT!!

Why would we do that? We already have big time money tied up in LT and MLB. You don't draft what you already have as a strength for years to come UNLESS the guy is can't miss.

I would say QB in the 1st, TE in the 2nd, and Corner in the 3rd.

I was really just picking random positions that are not QB. I have little faith in the Texans drafting a QB first.

The Texans do have great timing, assuming they aren't too stubborn to ignore it... this is the best QB class I've seen in a really long time. So many great options. There are at least six guys, probably more, that I'd take over E.J. Manuel and Geno Smith (the leading options a year ago).

If Schaub loses his job, and Yates and Keenum fail to seize their opportunity, the Texans will have no choice but to draft a QB.

Boyd is fast but he hardly runs unless he has to. So is Teddy and Hundley. Manziel is the wild card.

The bolded part is how I know you do not watch many of his games. I've never seen a QB scramble around trying to buy his receivers time more than this guy. With that said, he does need to work on his movement within the pocket.

I think he will probably be the best guy available when the Texans are drafting. I don't think we will have an option at the top 2 or 3. I'd rather take a chance at a guy like JFF being great than take the safe play in a guy like McCarron which seems to be the type of guy Kubiak will want to draft. I think Kubiak wants a guy he can control so he has say in exactly what the offense will do. I don't think he really wants a guy making decisions and changes at the line of scrimmage. Part of the reason I think Kubiak probably needs to go at the end of the season.
