What does that mean, you can question everyone else, but no one can question your boy? He was overweight and out of shape in the first game of season, FACT.

Spurier even questioned his work ethic, but I guess you know more than him.

You don't run a 4.47 40 at his size if you have a work ethic that is questionable.

Did you not even read my comment? Work ethic when it comes to getting paid and not loving football or being great at being a football player? It even had a question mark after it, as in I'm not stating it as fact.

Is he your son or something?

You're doing it wrong. Speed and work ethic have very little to do with each other.

That's like saying, dont question Harold Miner's work ethic when he can jump 44 inches high.

When Clowney shows he has stamina, a motor, and a constant desire to be the best, then I will attribute that to work ethic.

Predictable. Clowney starts to blow the combine away and the conversation switches from just his work ethic to "Work ethic when it comes to getting paid and not loving football". Anything to keep the trope alive.

Mario Williams is a top 8 DE. Bridgewater, this year's best QB prospect is projected/graded as a mediocre QB. Williams 2.0? Locked into a rookie-scale contract? Well ****, that's a deal.

    Except Clowney is better.

Yeah, the guy didn't want to play for free and risk injury. Now he can blow out his achilles and still have enough money to back to college and study without the added stress of being a student athlete. I would have done the same if I was projected #1 my sophomore year. Actually I would have sat the year out and hired a trainer, chef and found a DE coach to work with.

    Clowney got a 10 '4 broad jump and a 37.5 vertical leap.

Who the **** cares about "love"? If you can get me a robot to play DE and get 22 sacks a year - sign me up. The "love"? Are you kidding me? "love"? The ****?

It's just going to get worse the better he does, and the more it looks like their guy isn't going to be picked.

I think it helps in making a player great if they love what they do, not just going for a big payday. Personal opinion.

Confirmed, can only discuss clowney with this guy you are going to praise him. All they while he nitpicks every aspect of anyone else being considered at #1.

And you were the one that brought up his work ethic in this thread.

Well certainly not solely on the 40, but I'd hope they'd take the most talented player in the draft.

Wouldn't mind seeing this guy in a Texans uni at all.
