Pop mentions Hakeem in his media conference interview: http://www.nba.com/video/channels/playoffs/2014/06/11/20140611-media-avail-popovich.nba//
Yeah well they didn't get drafted by Cleveland..... who thought Mo Williams + a 90 year old Shaq great 2nd/3rd options for Championship team.
What is funny is that France was never a Top 3 Baskeball nation yet Parker and Diaw are doing so well over here.
Don't know if this has already been mentioned but it appears the NBA has called in their "Dream Team" of officials to call game 4. Crawford Washington - LeBron averages almost 10 free throws per game and the Heat have won 20 of their last 21 games when Washington was an official. Callahan - Officiated 10 straight postseason wins for Miami.
He's right. Jordan is the greatest scorer to ever play the game. Pippen was in his right an amazing player that would have been a star had he played by himself. Rodman was the greatest rebounder to ever live. Also he was surrounded by good, not great role players. Yeah they weren't super role players but they weren't scrubs either. Why do people act like Jordan took a team of scrubs to the finals and won?
Seriously, that "Built, not bought" tag line could have worked against a slew of teams. Other than the Spurs, we've seen championships from Miami, Dallas, LA, Boston, and Detroit, all the way back to MJ on Chicago and Hakeem with us. Every single one of those teams had important players not come from their respective team's draft picks. It's silly to sit here and pretend like we wouldn't celebrate if KD somehow wanted to come over here for a reduced price after beefin' with Westbrook. At the end of the day, it's "win, not lose" and "profit, not bankrupt" that are the official mottos of the league's players and owners.
