Saban has certainly found out, as demonstrated by his struggles with Auburn and A&M, who didn't have nearly the type of recruiting classes he did. Success these days is as much about scheme and coaching as it is about having stars all over the field. Saban is a great coach, so obviously he isn't going to struggle as much as a Mack Brown.
Meh, I'll believe it when I see it. Maybe Kirby Smart out danced Gus at Rashaan Evan's Grandfather's birthday party on Saturday night to seal the commitment?!
Well, it's still nice to be potentially good on paper. I know it doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, but the Aggies from my generation have not experienced this ever. We have been significantly behind y'all Longhorns in this department until Sumlin came along.
I think it will be difficult to maintain simply because if how much Austin is better then college station. May be wrong but I think it is important.
While I agree that there are aspects of UT that is great (I'm not some Maroon colored glasses wearing Aggie here), that answer is very arrogant. Just because it's Austin doesn't equate into automatic top five recruiting classes. Individuals matter, and Sumlin is doing a great job. And A&M has a lot going for it in terms of tradition, facilities, a supportive community, and beautiful girls. Mack was on the down slope of recruiting and Sumlin is on fire. I don't know how long A&M can maintain this paper dominance (and again, it's just on paper), but I wouldn't be surprised if this stays this way for at least another few years.
For one, Strong doesn't let his kids have any fun so what's the point? On a serious note, College Station is boring as hell but not more boring than any other school that has recruited well historically, like OU, Alabama, Auburn, and every other elite football school that isn't USC or UT.
Think he's a 3 star, but it really doesn't matter. Our DT situation is dire enough that we need to throw as many bodies at it as possible. This kid is supposed to be super high potential, though. I believe he played running back/linebacker in high school, and I think we finally have a coaching staff that can consistently make players out of guys like this. Not our most successful signing day, but I think there are some guys in this class that have potential for greatness - namely, Jerrod Heard.
USC is in the ghetto. A west coast equivalent of Austin with a big program is UCLA in Westwood, which is just an awesomely scenic and fun place.
National Signing Day broke the Rivals website haha. They are redirecting traffic through a Yahoo's college football page now.

Alabama does it again! Oh well...still got 4 five-star's, so I'm content, but losing Rashaan hurts, even though I fully expected it given recent reports.
