Here's who I think we are getting: Spoiler Roger Espinoza Center Midfielder from Honduras, started all WC games for Honduras in Brazil Here's why: 1. Fits all the things Canetti said he's after. 2. Won't take an international spot because he is a dual-citizen, grew up in the states.. 3. MLS experience 4. Has same agency as Brad Davis, and a few others on the squad. 5. Honduran fan base will continue between Roger and Boniek. Hope I'm right, he'd be a good fit.. and he's only 27
Haha, I'm a new fan. Easy to pick which team to root for in the MLS, gotta back Houston. I'm gonna watch a bunch of EPL matches and see which team I lean towards in that league.
Everton is the closest to the Rockets.. Always competitive. don't have the budget/market to buy every big name player every year.. GO BLUES!
Carmelo. Chris Bosh. Lebron. Carmelo again. Chris Bosh again. Kevin Love. Tell me one more big name besides Dwight Howard?
The guys the dynamo are signing are the Terrence Jones' of the world.. But they are the Chris Bosh's of the MLS
Clyde drexler Charles Barkley Scottie pipped Steve francis Tracy McGrady James harden Players are ALWAYS willing to come to the rockets, they are a large market and extremely valuable/profitable franchise
Doesn't fit Canetti's comments from earlier that it's a player that started all 3 of his teams games in the Cup. Garrido only played in 2. I'd prefer Espinoza.
Once again the Dynamo get the pig's feet, snout and chitlins. Sad with such a great stadium and fan base.
I don't think you can compare a league with a salary cap and a league without a salary cap. That being said. Why the **** does the MLS have a salary cap? It is really hurting the growth potential of the league, imo.
Because if they didn't hardly anybody would want to own an MLS franchise... The cap keeps the owners happy
It's in place to keep the league financially viable. It was crucial in its earlier years when they didn't have great TV contracts and didn't want to bleed teams like the NASL - if there was no cap, teams like Los Angeles would've gotten all the best players and clubs like DC would've been left with nothing and withered. Also, I think European soccer acknowledges that the American parity model works and it's why we've seen leagues like the EPL tip toe into "financial fair play" rules.
I'm not sure if Honduras is really the country I want to build a pipeline with. That team looked downright awful in the World Cup. Besides, if our ownership situation wasn't so damned skewed, we'd be able to go out and spend more.
Let's hope for the game tomorrow night that the Dynamo can put a good competitive performance against a Premier League team unlike what the L.A. Galaxy and Kansas City did in their games against Manchester United and Manchester City respectively. I don't know if these lopsided ugly results are a big deal. The Dynamo did beat Stoke City last year so that's saying something. I just want the Houston Dynamo to represent well for U.S. soccer and the MLS when they play against Aston Villa. Just because they are not one of the top 10 teams in the English Premier League and survived relegation the last 3 years, Aston Villa is not a pushover.
