Have tickets for tomorrow's game. Got them in the 300s, cost about $90 for two. Considering sitting in the field boxes during BP as I always do and just staying during the game.
I can totally see this happening. In the end, it will be about wins & losses and Porter's inability to create chicken salad from chicken ***** will prove to be his downfall.
I'm sure the Astros will have the next manager candidate in the bag if this happens. Nobody wants to be made a pawn in the rebuilding scheme, and I will be pissed if they don't give him a decent shot.
I really don't actually. Its one thing when a team expects to win and then loses. Its another when the team clearly expects to lose and loses. Judging by Cranes comments, losing less than 100 games this year would seem to keep Porter in the realm of expectations. If we go on to lose 110 games this year, then I might start to question Porters longevity.
Pretty early to do much statistical analysis, but I do have some early opinions: Biggest Surprise: Scott Feldman Era: 0.66 W/L 2-0 Biggest Disappointment: Matt Dominguez BA: .107 OBP: .188 Leads team in errors (2) Other Notables: Dexter Fowler - BA: .438, OPS: 1.346 Robbie Grossman - BA: .063, 12 SO in 32 AB's
What are the plans for Springer this year? Is he supposed to get called up at some point this season? I'm gonna have a hard time being excited about anything astros until we call springer up...
I think it will actually be late June... since the super-2 "deadline" changes every year, and they won't know the actual cut-off till after the season is over, most teams just wait till late June/early July as it usually is long enough to not have to worry about it.
