^^ Lulz. Both wrong. I work for The Onion.

Looks like it will be close Saturday. All it will take is a 1 or 2 degree change in temps and it could lead to freezing rain or just cold rain

this is almost bad as the hurricane predictors who, up until the last minute, insist that we will all still die.

"The threat for freezing rain has diminished." David's wishcasting proves wrong again.

^^ Lulz what? Where was I wish casting at all? Taking things out of context a bit?

Also, for the threat to diminish, the threat had to be there to begin with right? So what's your point?

Dudes, they sprayed this magnesium chloride stuff in like four lines in each lane all over Fort Worth free ways on bridges and overpasses even though there was practically zero threat of any winter weather here. I wonder how much that cost to do? Also, what's the big idea trying to get people to drive into work on an ice or a snow day? They act like we want to be out there driving. If it were that bad, then we wouldn't be able to make it off the secondary roads in the first place. Quit trying to help us get to work! ;)

This is a "Texas Winter" thread after all. Winter Storm warnings up for Austin and San Antonio. Given the radar trends, they should see some icing on trees and over passes tonight into tomorrow. Icing is already occurring out into Fredericksburg this evening. The temps around there are hovering in the 34-35F range but the dew points are in the mid to low 20s. The "wet bulbing" effect should kick in and cause some slick conditions tonight into tomorrow morning.

On my way to Central Wisc. Currently -3 with wind chills near -25. I forgot a damn hat. Hope I can find one in the airport before I have to walk outside.

It needs to hurry up and get cold again. Mosquitos are out and about....and it's only January!

Looks like we'll have lows in the 30's/40's and highs in the 50's for the next week. So, David will be coming in soon to to say a winter storm is possible

It is going to be a Blizzard next week!! Everyone get water and firewood!!

All joking aside, this looks to be a nice shot of cold air coming in early next week. We are on the back side of the cold so it will be pouring straight south to us. Some models have the precip ending for us before the coldest of the air gets here. Others have it being very light (like not making it to the surface) if any while the cold air is here.

BTW I don't predict winter storms. I just regurgitate what the forecast models say. And they jump around all the time :p
