awww someone's mad that's cute though everybody here knows that your posts are irrelevant and this is the perfect example. Unscouted player? After his first 2 or 3 starts he was already making head news all over the world do you just think that other teams that played the knicks after were like 'meh **** him we don't need to study his game lol'? Anyways I don't even know why i'm replying to you. Reading you post (not just on this thread) reminds me of someone that lacks of education and common sense.
Kobe is one of those players that I would entrust letting him shoot a contested mid-range jumper, but still would not like it that he did it.
Here is a table with each Laker player's (raw) plus minus. I took out a few guys who hasn't really played many minutes and only include the "regulars": Spoiler <style type="text/css"> table.tableizer-table { border: 1px solid #CCC; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; } .tableizer-table td { padding: 4px; margin: 3px; border: 1px solid #ccc; } .tableizer-table th { background-color: #104E8B; color: #FFF; font-weight: bold; } </style><table class="tableizer-table"> <tr class="tableizer-firstrow"><th>Player</th><th>Plus-Minus</th></tr> <tr><td>*Bryant</td><td>-19.3</td></tr> <tr><td>*Hill</td><td>-15</td></tr> <tr><td>*Johnson</td><td>-13.9</td></tr> <tr><td>*Lin</td><td>-7.5</td></tr> <tr><td>*Boozer</td><td>-7.4</td></tr> <tr><td>*Price</td><td>4.4</td></tr> <tr><td>*Davis</td><td>4.8</td></tr> <tr><td>*Young</td><td>9.6</td></tr> <tr><td>*Ellington</td><td>19.4</td></tr> <tr><td>*Sacre</td><td>22.8</td></tr> </table> Notice a pattern?
The pattern is that the more you play with Kobe, and the more time you spend in the starting lineup, the worse you numbers look. Kobe, who plays 100% of the minutes with himself on the floor, is the worst. And the next two worst are Hill and Johnson, the other 2 Lakers who have started all season. Lin and Boozer's +/- were in the Hill/Johnson territory a while ago, but have really gone up since they left the starting lineup. And the bench guys are in the positive territory (relative to the rest of their teammates). Sacre, who is a deep bench guy is the best because he does not often share time with Kobe and gets a decent number of garbage time minutes when the results were already determined.
What's the point of a Harvard education if you don't know how to do your job? Another lof bookworm who thinks reading all day makes you smart. Sorry your buddy lin has such a low bball iq all his coaches give up on him. This is the real world, not a Google basement. Lol , oh yeah... I'm gonna need those reports on my desk next day. Funny how a guy without an education like me is running circles around you and your cyber game buddies... probably reminds you of school all over again
Whats funny is that out of all the teams we could of traded Lin to he goes to the Lakers and play with Kobe lol
Kobe at the moment reminds me of Tmac with the Knicks. He still has that superstar mindset, he's taking those tough, contested, superstar shots, but he is nowhere near as efficient and effective given the dropoff in athletic ability means he's unable to either: A) Create as much space B) Penetrate easily So now wrt Kobe, while he still has the talent he's just taking way too many contested jumpers. Some of the commentary refuses to even acknowledge it, I remember a stretch where he bricked 4 in a row and there wasn't even a peep from espn
Kobe right now can't drive, can't defend, still want to chuck contested shots and freeze out his teammates. Look at how many FGA he has this season, and look at how many of them are contested shots. Right now he has a huge negative impact on his team, and yes, Kobe is the main problem.
THe truth is no one wanted Lin We had no choice but to give up our first because lakers was was the only interested and they wanted a 1st for their trouble The funny thing is the LOFs were pretty sure that linsanity 2 was gonna happen in hOllywood and we gave the lakers and lakers fans the ultimate gift the keeps on giving: Lin and his LOFs
Kobe still got plenty of talent offensively. But the guy is a pretty big negative overall to his team. First and foremost, he doesn't play any defense anymore. Doesn't have the lateral quickness with age and injuries. And most of the time, he doesn't even try or pay attention. Kobe has as many ADD moments on the court as Harden did last season. Second, while he is still skilled offensively, he doesn't have the ability to consistently attack the rim and end up, as Haberstroh's video notes, taking more contested midrange Js than anybody else in the NBA and hitting 32% of them. He just isn't much fun to play with for many teammates. Hell, a guy who hogs the ball, chucks low % shots and doesn't pay attention on defense at all isn't much fun to play with at the local 24 hour fitness or at any level of basketball. Thank goodness for Swaggy P trying in vain to keep everyone's spirits up.
Karma is a b****. And like vlaurelio said, no one wanted him to begin with. The fact that Rockets had to include a 1st round pick to off load him tells you everything you need to know about Lin as a player. It was amusing watching all the Lin crazies celebrate the Lin trade as if Lin was in Lakers long term plan lol. (for proclaiming themselves smart, they sure are stupid for not doing the math of who was giving up the 1st round pick to whom). 20 games into the season and cold harsh reality of the NBA smacks them in the face---again. The Lakers wanted the 1st round pick, bozos. Lin was just a price Lakers had to pay for one year.
