I think you overestimate the Lakers and underestimate the Rockets if you think Lin was more than a minor factor in the win. He was a net minus in the game, but lost in a sea of overwhelming minus on that team.
I've never been happier to see a former Rocket become a Laker. Nice guy, but not a very good basketball player. The Lakers fans deserve the LOFs. Too bad they don't have him on a multi-year deal.
Under. With the "spacing" Byron Scott gets in his "system" Lin's best talent is neutralized. It's going to be an ugly season.
Not wanting to bump an old thread, but remember that one called "Jeremy Lin 50-40-90 club watch"... hahahahahahahahaaaaa
Or the one saying Should we look to Jeremy Lin to be our closer as opposed to James Harden? Or Harden should be the 6th man and Lin start And this could go on and on. Plenty of other delusional threads by the Lin crazies.
It's funny that with us it was McHale, with the Lakers it'll be Kobe. I don't know if anyone read this on Deadspin the morning: http://deadspin.com/oh-man-the-lakers-are-in-big-big-trouble-1652192800 But the offense Scott wants to run is truly archaic at this point. Chucking up contested mid range jumpers is not going to be in Lin's wheelhouse.
Lin seemingly can get to the rim anytime he wanted to last night. He had no one to pass to once he got there. LOL. What kind of offense is Byron Scott running? No 3 point shooters, everyone was crowding around 18 feet from the rim.
What kind of poster are you? Apparently, the ignorant kind. Please don't be offended by that statement, because the statement is true. You are completely unaware of why these 2 specific players (Lin and Parsons) get the scrutiny they deserve. Parsons? Says he's "insulted" by the Rockets and that the city of Houston is "Dirty". Yeah that will get you some hate. Lin? The player is not a d-bag. But his fans were delusional and were ONLY Lin fans...not Rocket fans. And after 2+ years of hearing them whine and moan DAILY in Clutchfans that Lin's faults were because of Harden, Mchale, Clutchfans, Houston Media, Clutch, etc it's a chance to shove it back in the LOF's fans face. Keep in mind that Lin also blew an almost sure win for Houston vs. Portland in the playoffs and the resentment people have for him for that too. Meanwhile, Asik (although he did pout last year when Dwight came over) doesn't get the hate because he didn't trash the city/organization on the way out AND he doesn't have delusional fans like Lin does. There....now you're not ignorant anymore.
I think a lot of fans here (including Clutch) is still bitter about the whole Lin trade/Failed Bosh acquisition. They are trying really hard to justify the Lin trade (that costs Rockets a first round pick and a backup point guard) by arguing Lin's value is net minus to the team and it's addition by substraction. Same situation for Parsons, certain fans felt happy last night when he played like a scrub and it somewhat justified Rocket's decision to not match that offer. But at end of the day, how those two perform are irrelevant to the current Rockets team. No matter how hard some fans are trying to defend the offseason decisions made by Morey and Co., what ultimately matters is how far the team could go in the playoffs.
If you say so then I believe the past you. The present you acts as a watchdog. It is rather sad that you feel like you have to be one. Having fun discussions, sharing information and opinions is the true essence of a BBS. Differences can be sorted out rather quickly and without much hate I have been on other non sports related BBS and it always worked that way. And smaller communities are even more friendly
Bev must have butt f***ed his mom and not called her back. I don't know why he continues to write like that now that Lin is gone.
That's spot on. Memphis shot the fewest three pointers last season but they did it because they have a rugged front court that can pound you inside and their back court doesn't really consist of great shooters. That style of play with Boozer and Hill leading your big men is insane. Maybe this is all part of an elaborate tank job to try to encourage Bryant to demand a trade.
The constant refrain from the aggressively stupid subset of Lin fans was that Clutch was making lots of money from all the traffic, so why act upset about it. Having run a BBS, I can say without any doubt that there was no way that was worth the hassle. On the other hand, there is no hassle for Chris Baldwin. It is 100% upside on the clicks with no downside. The real world example of success in the false narrative aimed at Clutchfans.
