He makes good role player material that is for sure.... but I would want us to head out and discover 'Kawhi Leonard lite heavy on Defense' type of young player first.

    Before I jump on Aminu.

I might never stop laughing if the Mavs end up paying Parsons 15 mil a year to be a 6th man. Please let this happen.

    Lots of cap room: http://hoopshype.com/salaries/dallas.htm

Probably the most positive thing for the Mavs going forward...

Classy tweet. Forgot he spent more time as a Rocket and we drafted him.

He can be Mav for Life if he wants to.

Parsons to potential Mavs targets: "...and this is my microfracture scar. Isn't she beautiful?"

    Seriously, what's the pitch?

"Come join my recuperation, Dirk's hard-to-watch, no defense swan song, and maybe Monta Ellis dominating the ball."

I'm not trying to just be a hater, but the Mavs have serious problems, despite a lot of cap room. Cuban has not been landing big fish for a number of years now, for whatever reason. And this ugly playoff exit, including Rondo quitting on the org, won't help attract new talent.

    Agree.

We know this Rondo is out. (No Pg on that team)

Aminu will get paid. Chandler same. Monta will opt out for more money.

Dallas can lose all 3 of those players or just pay them a lot more.

I can see Dallas trying to land Aldridge since he has ties to the city.

Aldridge's son lives in San Antonio, so I think SA has a big advantage as well.

Plus, there has been an unexpected addition to the equation: Aldridge this spring became a father. His son and the mother live in San Antonio.

During the playoffs, when Aldridge was excused from the team's flight to Houston before Game 3 in order to fly to Texas for a "family emergency," it was because his ex-girlfriend had gone into labor two weeks early.

Jaylen Lea Aldridge was born April 23, a healthy 8 pounds.

"He's fat right now, looks just like me when I was little," Aldridge said. "He has like three chins, and his legs are so fat, it's like 'Man, it's time for you to start running.' But he has big hands and feet and he has my ears."

It is a serious development for Aldridge, whose father was not a part of his life. He is no longer with the mother, but has an arrangement to see his son every other week.

"My father wasn't really in my life," Aldridge said. "So I'm going to be very involved, trying to be around him as much as I can, see him as much as I can."
