Its not like Casey was ,missing blocks or getting beat. He was fine at his job and could catch the ball, it was a nice bonus. There is a reason he got paid

Casey was good at being a multi dimensional play. Good at somethings great at nothing. My biggest issue is that the Texans knew he was not coming back why didn't they give Klutts some fb reps? Foster will go into this season with his fourth fb in as many seasons and ppl wonder why his numbers have been inconsistent

I know the stat is posted all the time, but the texans don't use a full back that often. Casey was an above average FB who might have been the best catching FB in the NFL, that made him valuable. He did his job well, playing Klutts makes no sense. Foster's success and failure have very little to do with the full back in the big picture

Casey got paid, but he is genuinely a good person who came from pretty much nothing to making 15 mil. He is the American Dream personified.

So you're saying there's no correlation with Leech and 6yds per carry and Casey and damn near 2yds per carry? The right side of the line sucked too but Casey wasn't clearing out running lanes for him. And why do ppl keep saying we don't use the fb that much? Do tall watch the games? We use the fullback on every third down conversion and every goal line run play or in other words when its important. You can't keep changing blockers and then saying that there's no relation to his production. That doesn't make sense

The Texans use a FB about 30% of the time. Again, its not like Casey was getting blown up or missing blocks, he just wasn't a tank like Leach (the best FB in football)

I've maintained that aside from the turnover on the right side of the OLine, part of the trouble in the running game was that Daniels and Graham aren't as good as blockers as Dressen was and Casey isn't as good a blocker as Leach or Vickers were.

If a more traditional blocking FB can give you a better running game, I'd much rather have that than 300 receiving yards out of my FB.

GQ needs to be signed. He plays tight coverage, good speed for size, and hits almost like a linebacker...what's the deal Texans? If only one F. A. needs signed its Quin...

But the fact is their running game went from being one of the best 2 years ago (with a traditional fb) to being very mediocre.

Combine a medicore running game with a QB with zero mobility, and all those awesome play-actions that led to scrub WR's being wide open don't exist anymore.

The running game is everything for this offense. They used to be able to run no matter who was stacking the box... once that got stifled, the whole offense went south.

    This.

They have to figure out how to get the running game back on track. Sure, those guys can't block as well... but the right side of the line is an issue as well.

So Detroit Lions bag their first free agent of the day, ....CB Chris Houston.

Gotta be good news for us they only have 6 million or so in cap space available. There is no way they can sign Houston, Bush, Quin, Hixon, jones for that

Nick and Cannon make a ton of sense. If we are stuck with Schaub, we need to enhance the running game rather than trying to hit jackpot on another WR.

    Maybe bring Winston back.

Eh, I'm not all that disturbed about possibly losing Quin. There is a good market of safeties, several of which can probably be had cheaper than Quin and be just as effective. It's gotten to the point that we need to save our money to pay our star players and we've got Cushing and Watt coming up the next two years. Our success has always and will always depend on drafting well. If losing a guy like Quin sinks your team, you are doing something wrong.

I'm honestly a little more worried about losing Mccain. It'll be hard to find an effective nickel corner at a decent price, and Brandon Harris scares the **** outta me.

If they were the Texans yes that would take them out the running...
Better yet the Texans have 9.5 million in cap space and havent been in the running for anyone... The lions had 6.5 Million and have signed a couple of key free-agents..

Just crazy seriously... The texans will draft a WR late in the First Round and hope he can make an impact...

Andre Johnson should really push the office to get him some helpp....
