I really don't think the Hawks can come back from this even if they win game 5 somehow. The Wings were able to do it to the Ducks, but they really have a sense of urgency that I haven't seen yet from the Hawks. Not to mention, aside from Crawford, there really hasn't been anyone that has played well.

Not sure what I should really take away from this game. Hawks played well, but it was really expected of them to in a win or go home situation -- though I also thing Detroit didn't play all that well maybe saving up energy for game 6. It's really hard to see the Hawks winning game 6, I think it would take a lot to beat Detroit at the Joe in game 3-2 deficit. Not saying it's impossible but rather unlikely. The Hawks just waited too long to give a full team effort in one game. Boston and Pittsburgh should be a great series in the ECF. Couldn't really ask for a better match up in the East.
Never thought they would win game 6. Sudden death game 7 - should be good. I think it'll be a hard fought game, I don't really think either team has an advantage.
I won't ever debate that the amount of viewers the NBA draws is far superior (and will probably always be) to that the NHL draws...but when you get down to quality (injuries or no) of playoff gameplay, the NHL is hands down far better.
You said it. There is no equal to playoff hockey if you know the sport. It's near the top in terms of parity, and might be the top in terms of intensity. It's a seven game series with physicality that is respected by football players. And injuries? Ha. There's no laying on the floor for 2 minutes when you bump knees. You take a 90 mph puck to the meat? Get back on that bench and get your next guy out there, son. Endless sudden death overtime is the cherry on-top. Absolutely love NHL playoff games.
Watched the final period of last night's LA/SJ game. Very intense. No personal interest in either team...but was pulling for LA to win. Can't believe how much the intensity rises in a one goal game in the final minutes and the losing team pulls their goalie. Co-worker is from Chicago and is a huge Blackhawks fan (like wears a jersey to work every other day type fan)...he will be sweating bullets all day today. Can't wait for tonight's game. Hoping to see Chicago pull off their historic season.
A comically bad call. My God, that was even worse than Joey completely blowing it with the shot clock last night. This explanation is a crock of feces. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>NHL situation room explanation on that Hjalmarsson no goal: The whistle blew. <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23Blackhawks">#Blackhawks</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23RedWings">#RedWings</a></p>— Tracey Myers (@TramyersCSN) <a href="https://twitter.com/TramyersCSN/status/339938436985257986">May 30, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I've never liked that they can't reverse a call when the whistle blew. Coyotes lost a key goal in a Kings game earlier this year on that same type of call when I was at the game. Anyway, nice win!!
