Hopefully our bases-loaded demons will be exorcised by the time the season gets going

Apparently we just need Singleton (though he really benefitted from poor judgement from the CF).

Man it's a real shame this dude is a pot head and got busted. I know 50 games at this point of his development isn't a killer, but sure would have liked to see him start at AAA and have a chance to be up at some point this year

Mallee was a longtime hitting instructor in the Marlins organization (orimarily working with minor leaguers) and served as the big club's hitting coach before he was let go in 2011 for Eduardo Perez. At the time, the Marlins had just lost their 7th in a row.

This appears to be his personal site.

Palm Beach Post story on his firing

Apparently the firing didn't sit too well with some of the players. Long story short: his firing was universally panned. Google "john mallee fired." You'll see.

Alex White didn't seize his opportunity... next up, Brad Peacock. He draws Carsten Sabathia tomorrow.

    Astros cut Tyler Greene

Proudly ’100 percent Mexican,’ resilient Gonzalez on verge of making Astros’ roster

Brad Peacock walked 2 and struck out 1, but he also allowed a run on 2 hits in 5 innings today.

Looks like we found our #4 starter! I've been impressed with his stuff. Poise, above avg fastball and nasty curve. White has Long Reliever written all over him at this point. But if he can figure it out a little more, I see him as a Derek Lowe type pitcher. Go Stros!!

Who would have ever thought the Yankees would be claiming someone waived by the Astros?!

They've done it a couple of times in recent years. Last year the bought Steve Pearce off of us.

Mental error by Jose Martinez prevents possible double play, and Marlon Byrd makes them pay.

I've been a little curious why Jose Martinez has been with the big league club for most of ST. He's ticketed for AAA. We most likely won't see him at all this season unless something happens to Tuve and Paredes.

Is Rhiner Cruz expected to make the 25 man? He was so terrible last year I expected him to go back to AAA this season.
