if i am not mistaken, ATT locked phones can actually work on ST without unlocking.

Yeah, I believe ST uses AT&T as their backbone.

Welcome to wp8. I have the same phone and use it as my daily driver. As others have said, you can put it on any MVNO of at&t. (red pocket, aio, ST)

Oh and if you're looking for instagram for windows phone, download 6tag

Windows phone definitely has the best user experience and Microsoft has billions of dollars in the bank that they can invest in it. Much like the xbox, eventually people will figure it out and it will be successful.

Getting the developers to get on board is the challenge.

I was this close to switching but then I look at some apps I use daily and it's stuck in no mans land on windows phone.

    Waze..in beta
    Dropbox..no app
    Flighttrack..last updated in june 2011!
    Mint..no app

From what little I've seen and used of WP8, I love it. I also love the design of the Lumia 1020 with its honkin' 41 megapixel camera. I was thinking about making a WP8 phone my next phone, but the app availability may kill it for me. I don't really care about games and only use a handful of apps regularly, but ... I don't know. I had the SIM card in my Galaxy S2 malfunction recently and had to go get a new one. The guy at AT&T tried to steer me away from the WP8 phones because he said he'd had a lot of them returned. Not sure if it was a reliability thing or if it was because people couldn't find apps, didn't like the UI, etc.

It was probably because the Samsung would give him a bigger commission.

I'm a former AT&T employee. Commission wasn't structured on the devices, only the account/plan features. He was probably being genuine about the device returns. I know WP8 was very polarizing for many people when I worked there and we got a fair amount of returns versus Android and iPhone.

Anyway, another leaked photo of the Nexus 5:

Looks like the one on top is a white version.

Commission is probably the wrong word, but there are incentives for sales people on certain devices over others.

I guess people aren't used the newer WP8 OS compared to it's Android or iOS counterparts who already have tenure in the mobile phone era. That and the lack of apps...

Actually, my girlfriend had the HTC 8X (when it first came out) to replace her MyTouch 4G and she did NOT like the 8X whatsoever. She sold it and now owns a Nexus 4.

Looks like some of these phone companies are cheating benchmarks. Another reason why I never really liked using benchmarks for phones as a determining factor for which one is better.
