The voice thing is definitely going to take off, it's just a matter of when. When you add hands-free to the mix, the convenience goes to another level. Many smart people still thought the mouse on Macs was a gimmick well after it was introduced. Allegedly one of Google's goals is to create the Star Trek computer and make it available to everyone. Maybe the Moto X is too far ahead of it's time and won't do well. It's a big risk they are willing to take.
I agree the voice stuff will definitely take off. Look at the Xbox One/Kinect stuff. I think voice is like tablet computing, it will fail, re-emerge, fail, and then someone will make the equivalent of the iPad in the voice world and it will blow up like gangbusters. The question is, is this device like an iPad or an HP Slate? I'd say it's closer to slate than iPad right now.
i dont know...we'll see. i just have a hard time seeing people walking down the street talking to their phones, like google searching and setting reminders and such. hell isn't that the main reason texting has taken off? people don't want to even talk to each other at this point
Kinect is great for movies and Netflix. I love just saying "xbox pause" to get up to get a soda. Hell, I wish it could do that with live TV. I use Indigo (Siri clone for WP8) sometimes, but it's mostly gimmicky stuff like asking for jokes, or if I'm too lazy to plug in an appointment myself. I couldn't live without voice to text. Its so easy and it's great when I'm driving. I think voice to text has potential as long as it can be used in a way where it is actually faster than just doing the damn thing yourself. The problem is, in most cases with speech recognition and doing the task itself it's slower than just typing it myself.
The last two reviews on the Moto X have had the phrase, "a pair of dual core processors" Does that mean that it has 2 dual-core S4 processors in there?
LG G2 press conference is going on right now live. http://www.youtube.com/watch?annota...&feature=iv&src_vid=napmJFbAJYI&v=aQLLee2vMFk http://www.theverge.com/2013/8/7/4597162/lg-g2-smartphone-announce-price-release
If they let everyone and not just AT&T users customize the phone, then I might hop on. That battery life is selling me
I don’t know about the LG G2 volume buttons being on the back I’m ok with power button being on the back. LG G2 Spoiler
I will never buy a product from lg ever again after having a G2X for 6 months. The phone literally degraded within months. At one point the battery lasted 3 hours. Screw lg.
I hope so! Some of the things that didn't make it to the N4 from the G was the 13mp camera but if they bring over the processor and battery and screen size, I'll be a happy camper!
Yeah, I'm pretty satisfied with the hardware side of this phone. I don't know how big a 5.2" phone really is in my hand, but I hope the phone isn't too big to the point where I get annoyed by the size. I don't really mind the physical buttons being on the back.
I guess since it's very similar in size to the GS4, if you can hold a GS4 you can hold a G2. If they base the N5 off the G2 I'd imagine it'd be similar in size. 5.2 screen would essentially would be the same size as the GS4 5" since the LG uses on-screen keys.
