Where's the guy who gets it right almost every year? I can't remember his moniker for the life of me, but I remember he picked Washington the year Wall came out. But yeah, I agree with Clutch- I hope the top picks go out East, not here. Especially not to the Hornets (in our division, already have Davis). I think Charlotte gets it, than Orlando, than Cleveland (who will pick Porter, but get screwed over by the Magic picking him for unknown reasons).
But it would be interesting to see if/how it changes the Kevin Love dynamic, especially if they end up with a Ben McLemore type. Would they be more willing to do something like Asik/Jones/Delfino(cap space)/future draft picks for Love at that point, going for a 3 year plan. Add a third team who wants Lin and can get Minnesota a little more in return. A lot ot give up, but if you signed Dwight, certainly a play you'd make. In some kind of twisted logic, I can more easily see TWolves management trading Love if they land in the top 3, effectively selling the fanbase on the future (while noting even with the great KLove they got nowhere)... whereas with a top 9 pick whom no one would have any real faith in, management has to continue to try and find the right pieces around Love with more of a win now mentality for the fanbase.
You know why there's a lottery system in the NBA, right? If you're so sure that the lotto is rigged, don't blame Stern, blame the Rockets.
Okay i will bump this when I am right. Feel free to do the same if im wrong. 1) Magic 2) Bobcats 3) Hornets The problem this year is too many teams need it , so conspiracy theorists cant say anything unless the kings win it.
Wow, it's already been a year?.. it seems like a few weeks ago when the Hornets got the #1 pick and we were talking about how Stern was corrupt
Wow I'm usually in the know about the lottery, but had no idea it was today. Thank god we made the playoffs. I was kind of used to playing the lotto machine on espn. Bobcats-Noel Magic. Do they pick mclemore or will they trade the pick? Afflalo was doing good for them.
someone mentioned on around the horn today that if toronto is out of the top 3 OKC gets their pick? that right?
Minny would be stupid if they had the #1 pick, picked someone, and then traded Love. (KAHNNNNNN!) If Minny receives the #1 pick, they should trade down to get McLemore. A good wing player is exactly who they need. Rubio McLemore Budinger Love Pekovic is pretty good. Oh goodness. Portland with Noel / Lilliard / LMA sounds ridiculously good.
