Nelubowich's bio

Defensively sound at 3B, but doesn't look agile enough. Has power, but contact is a question. #434 on the BA Top 500.

Round 19, Pick 557: Jake Rodriguez, C, Oregon State

 

Rodriguez is #394 in the BA Top 500.

2013: 54 games (52 starts), .268/.383/.357, 2 HR, 32 RBI, 23 R, 33 BB (4 HBP), 30 K, 2 SB (1 CS)

Caught 19 of 32 potential base-stealers (59.3%).

 

Round 20, Pick 587: Daniel Pinero, SS, Western Technical-Commercial School, Toronto

 

Pinero is #467 on the BA Top 500. He's committed to Virginia, where he'd be eligible again in 2015. 6'6" 200 SS, which probably means he'll be a 3B in the long term.

 

Adam Nelubowich led the West Coast Collegiate League in 2011 with a .490 slugging percentage while hitting 8 homers with the Wenatchee Apple Sox.

 

It also appears that the Astros will try to work Chris Cotton as a starter.

 

Round 21, Pick 617: Jon Kemmer, OF, Brewton Parker College (Georgia)

 

Brewton-Parker is an NAIA school in Mount Vernon, Georgia. Kemmer is a 6'2" senior from Pennsylvania.

Minnis was one of the Shockers' primary relievers this season.

Chrismon was drafted in the 32nd round by the Astros out of high school in 2010. He started his college career at East Carolina but transferred to Christopher Newport, a Division III school.
