Also if anyone has the tmobile 30$ plan and can no longer tether or hotspot their phone via pda.net/foxfi etc, I'll post the link I found on xda to resolving that problem http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2512674&highlight=tether&page=8
People have a hard time hearing me when I hold the phone on the right side of my face. Anyone else experience something similar. I don't think it's the way I'm holding the phone, but can't explain why the left side works fine holding it exactly the same way.
Do you know if this only works on the N5 or has it been confirmed to work on other Android phones as well? Ever since I got the HTC One I haven't been able to tether.
Not sure... but if you have tmobile this thread might have the answer, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2260916
not sure, but it may very well be the way you're holding it. i assume you already knew that although the perforations on the bottom of the phone look the same, the speaker is the one on the left and the mic is on the right.
Anyone wake up today and notice Google Play services is draining the **** out of battery? I have a crazy wakelock going on. I had to reboot my phone to get it to stop. I saw this on XDA. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2533748&page=2 Looks like others had to reboot their phones this morning to get it to stop. As soon as I did that the percentage has started to drop down and it is no longer keeping my phone awake.
yeah BBS said it was cacheupdate service. Happened on my 5 and then on my 7 this morning. I rebooted and it's gone. I definitely think it's something with KitKat as they are slowly ironing out the bugs. It's something to be expected of from a new update to an OS before devs can really get their hands on it. after the update and reboot i notice my phone does sleep better since i've gotten the phone. I think i have way too much crap on my phone. My fiancee's n5 last her from the morning until sleep and still has 50% battery when she goes to bed. Only thing she has turned off is google now. She is a candy crush and facebook addict which is surprising since those are known to be battery killers.
On another note, anyone with kids could probably get a good overall deal on a nexus 5 by getting that deal from Sprint/Best buy for students. Sure you pay 100 more than the google play store but you save in the long run since they give you unlimted talk/text and 1gb of data for a year.
Problem with that is that you actually have to use Sprint. My employer just got rid of Sprint and we are all getting Verizon phones. (HELLO MOTO X). I literally was getting like 0.27 mbps or 270kbps as my average on Sprint's 3G aka dial-up. 4G LTE was worse than T-Mobile's HSPA (NON LTE 4G NETWORK) anywhere from 1-7 mbps.
Thanks for answering! Glad I was not the only one. Yeah, so far the phone is great. I havent had much of any issues. However, every week it seems like hangouts force closes randomly
I'm in my early 20's. No kids for me. My ballsack however would prefer to be on AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile. My ballsack and the kids in there say no to Sprint lol

The nexus 4 Orb charges my Nexus 7 just fine, I like that it keeps it at a decent viewing angle as well.
Kit Kat 4.4.1 hast started to roll out to Nexus devices. It's supposed to bring some bug fixes and, most notably, substantial updates to the Nexus 5's camera and external speaker. Has any one gotten this OTA and care to comment? I've been checking for updates every few hours for the past day and have yet to get lucky!
I've applied it to my phone. Can I tell the difference? In PQ i'm not that good to really tell but at least it snaps faster and focuses quicker which is already a major improvement. Nothing more annoying than asking someone to take a picture for you and you're waiting forever for it to snap.
Anyone get an update to 4.4.2? I'm still stuck on 4.4. I'm really in no rush but it seems I'm always late to get these updates.
I got it on my Nexus 4 last night, don't see much of a difference so far, they said the camera should have improved, but not seeing any difference yet
I got it yesterday OTA. The speaker seems louder on my Nexus 5, as well as the camera app being improved quite a bit. Other than that, no real noticeable changes.
