    This.

I've never seen Ramos take FK's and PK's until last year. He's hardly been convincing at it, why bother? You have Villa/Xavi who are both decent dead ball specialist.

Im sure that if Ballotelli plays vs Spain, Italy would have won in the semifinals.

Man, Brazil just came to play from the opening whistle.

Plus, Nigeria sort of showed the way to attack Spain(but didn't have the strikers to put away chances). Italy took that and with a solid defence, gave a good effort. Brazil took what Nigeria and Italy did and with strikers/players in Fred and Neymar that know how to finish chances, they did so.

Just a good effort by Brazil but hopefully this doesn't make Big Phil and his team feel cocky and confident heading into next summer. (With only friendlies and no qualifiers to play). I hope they lose some matches heading into the tournament so they realize they aren't top of the pops and they put forth a great effort in the tournament.

^ This as well. Puzzled me. I wondered if they just didn't care at that point.
Of all the players on the pitch Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro, I think Torres was still on the pitch. I'd probably be more comfortable with young Azpilicueta taking a pk than Ramos.

I know now why Ramos took the PK. Spain knew they weren't going to catch Brazil so why not add to the lulz. This has to be the only reason.

He's actually been pretty successful since the one he missed with Madrid. Even scoring a panenka last year.

That's not the point. Why would he kick it when you have Xavi, Iniesta, Torres, Pedro? Usually Cesc takes the pks but he was on the bench, the only reasonable conclusion is that everyone else didn't have the balls to do so.

 are you crazy? Germany are one of the greatest footballing nations in history.

Irrelevant in international stage for 2 decades?

Runners up in world cup 2002, semifinalists in world cup 06, runner up in euro 08, semifinalist in world cup 10, and semifinalist in euro 2012.

Because DB doesn't have control of it. He lets the team on the pitch choose who goes. Kinda crappy if you ask me.

Futbol is on the backburner in regards to sports priorities. I was curious about his upcoming and how long he has been dabbed the next big thing?

He has been a youtube sensation for a few years now but prior to this confederations cup hadn't really been tested against European defenders. IMHO, he passed the test with a B+

Cool. Then don't say "came out of nowhere"... perhaps you can first say "I haven't paid enough attention to football until last couple months to hear about him"... then we'll know you're not that aware. We thought you were dismissing him as being known...

[thread=191368]Here's Clutchfans' first mention of him back in 2010[/thread].

Agreed. I enjoy soccer when it ever comes on TV. And I consider myself much more knowledgeable on the topic than the average american(not saying jack *****).

Waiting on the next big time American player. Would be nice to be relevant in soccer.

Basically, "TheRealist137" talks out of his ass constantly, be it basketball or football (soccer). He has never been right.
