Jason Whitlock (shocker) started this talk like two seconds after the game ended. He even went a step further and suggested that Saban coached poorly because he was nosing around at other jobs.
Auburn is the most insane/luckiest/miraculous/destined team ever. 2 back to back miracles. You cannot make this stuff up. I can't believe this.
About as accurate as his average post. Interestingly, Alabama still has a very good shot of backing into the title game yet again. A&M holds on beat Mizzou South Carolina beats Auburn Michigan State beats OSU That would likely leave Alabama right there as the top ranked 1 loss team again - certainly in the computers. Oklahoma State has to be depressed - this is their 2nd season in the last few to beat all the good teams on their schedule only to miss out on a national title opportunity due to some stupid loss to a bad team.
Then it's a darn good thing that won't happen. Mel Kiper, who is as down on McCarron as anyone else as an NFL prospect, has him as a 2nd-to-4th round pick. Bucky Brooks, who has worked as a scout, has him as a first-round pick. The guy has far more talent than many give him credit for. He has more experience, better numbers, more ideal size and more raw talent than Greg McElroy and even he got drafted.
I've been talking to another guy about this since the Auburn game ended. Alabama, not Auburn, may end up being the luckiest team this year.
Meanwhile, UCLA has all but sealed a win against USC. I imagine there is a sizable group of folks that are actually a little relieved that they are losing to the Bruins. This will make not retaining Orgeron (probably the right decision) a lot easier to do.
i'll give Auburn credit, but i still dont believe they will win the title with that offense... I think if you give a team 20 plus days to prepare for that offense( especially with a non-throwing qb)... they would shut them down, they have a nasty o-line though
he made some tough throws tonight, but he really hasnt been a guy that has one games with his arm, he still hands the ball off too much for my liking... but he is a better passer than i though orginally
I can only imagine. Your team will likely be favored next week with a reasonable chance at the BCS title game. What a turnaround from being 0-8 in the SEC last year! Congrats to Mizzou also. Nobody gave them a dimes worth of a chance to 11-1. Can't wait for Atlanta next week.
