Mizzou's resilience since the South Carolina collapse has blown me away. Incredibly, we're one Ohio State loss at Michigan (doubtful) or to Michigan State in the Big Ten Championship (very possible) from the SC loss being rendered completely and totally irrelevant. Beating Johnny is still a tall order, but the SEC is within our control and we're one mini-upset from saying the same about the national title. If you'd have told me that on Oct. 27, I'd have thought you were crazy. Gary Pinkel for Coach of the Year.
I think Malzahn has the slight edge simply due to Auburn's turnaround from last year is larger than Mizzou's. However, if Mizzou were to win the SEC championship, Pinkel would have it in the bag. Either way, both are more than deserving.
It's interesting. Auburn's turnaround is larger than Mizzou's, but I'd also argue that their talent base is a bit better -- it was just that mismanaged by Chizik in the past couple years. Either way, you're right -- both guys will have a chance to win it without debate during the next two weeks.
Ha. Yes, I'm very happy that we're not the one that has to go through Bama to get to Atlanta. (Though watch Johnny play the game of his life, now that I said that...)
Yes, Auburn did have an edge in the talent department. No doubt. Either way, glad our programs are back on the right track.
I don't understand what is going on with the computers and Northern Illinois. One computer has them as the 3rd best team.
