I do care when people are rude. That is not why it was mentioned, as I have seen the same people do that several times, and that has never been the intention. If it were, why would he not have linked the full thread as opposed to the single post? No one cares who was first to get the news.
seems like alerting him to where the specific post is would be more helpful than pointing him to an entire thread to sift through and try to find it himself.
I didn't think I'd have to explain myself, but.... sigh.... I guess I will. I was merely pointing out the post in the Minor League thread where it was mentioned, so he wouldn't have to sift through 67 pages to find it. And then you completely flew off the handle....
Aright, after that slight derail, it looks like San Fran might be a match made in heaven... http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/06/quick-hits-ethier-dodgers-blue-jays-phillies.html [I should really learn how to embed articles and what not on a post, sorry about that fellas] That being the case, who knows a lot about the Giant's minor league system? Who would be some names to look out for? Just glancing through their Top 10 at BA, Crick is probably an untouchable, but how about something like Mike Kickham and Adalberto Mejia? I doubt they do that, and I'm not too thrilled about that return myself. I much prefer our Pirates hypotheticals.
Prior to the start of the season, BA had them ranked 28th... yikes. That would be a good fit for him, though.
Giants system is rough, but is fairly deep in pitching, just doesn't have much top shelf talent. Crick is obviously the guy to get, but even without him guys like Stratton/Surkamp/Blackburn/Gregorio/Agosta could get a package deal done.
Escobar fits in with the guys I mentioned. Osich would be nice, but he'd probably be a 3rd or 4th guy in the package.
I didn't think this deserved its own thread probably, so I want to post it here: Jerome Solomon V Bud Norris I have never been a fan of Solomon for many reasons, but this is just crap. I don't want to link to his article because he doesn't deserve the hits, but this TCB article covers it very well. Solomon is always looking to throw people under the bus for the sake of an article. He has done this before by calling A&M racist (before and after hiring Sumlin) there are a few other examples. Usually, you will have the offended comment in the articles, but never the target. I am glad that Norris has essentially called him out via Twitter by retweeting all the supporting articles against Solomon. Alison Footer has even joined in on the action by tweeting out the article TCB posted. Anyway, Bud has always been painted as a kind spirit and someone that has brought continuity to this organization. I think newspapers are supposed to be informative, and if I want your skewed opinion, I will read the editorials. Solomon has been, and always will be, a hack, and I hope that he leaves this fine city. /rant
Thanks for sharing. I read the Solomon article yesterday, and it was the same trash as always. I like Bud a lot. He seems like a genuine guy. He didn't pull a RoyO and request a trade.
I've always been disappointed in the Houston Chronicle's sports coverage, and Jerome Solomon is an exemplary reason why. Hell, Jose de Jesus Ortiz spends more time talking about himself (and his BBWAA membership) on twitter than he does the team. And then, for reasons unclear, we go out and find some random Chicago talking head (Randy Harvey) to pump out opinion pieces about Houston teams. Brian Smith has been good as a beat writer, mainly because he understands his role as a beat writer. Unlike Ortiz, he doesn't constantly trump ump who is "classy" and "not classy" in his mind. He just gives us the news, and gives us lots of it. Zach Levine was also awesome, and I wish we had him back. It figures that the Opinionators For The Masses stick around while the insightful writers leave.
I was driving home from work on Monday, and it was interesting to hear what people had to say about the "Picnic at the Park" deal after the game Sunday. The few callers I heard on 790 said that Bud was just hysterical and making it a fun event for everyone there. Even when he is interviewed during and after games, he seems like a fun and invested guy. While mentioning the Picnic at the Park, it is worth noting that apparently all of the Astros were there and they did everything they could to make people feel welcomed. Such a cool event.
Chris Perry is a contributor for The Crawfish Boxes. Wow, Solomon's such a little b**** right now...

Solomon on radio: "I apologize that I didn't call [Norris] a fat whiny b*stard. Did Norris at least buy breakfast after foolin around with Solomon's mother? I mean what gives with this hate of a decent Houston athlete that has been nothing but gracious to the city?
