According to their game notes, the starter for Monday is TBA. Brad Peacock will start on Tuesday, though.
September call-ups expand the eligible players on the active roster from 25 players to the entire 40-man roster. Springer is not Rule 5 eligible yet, thus he hasn't been placed on the 40-man roster.
If Springer or Appel for that matter get a September callup, they must must be put on the 40 man roster which means the Astros would have to move someone off the 40 man roster first. That does not seem likely.
I can assure you if the Astros wanted Springer or Singleton in Houston the likes of Trevor Crowe and Brandon Laird wouldn't stand in the way.
For the most part, it wouldn't effect the length of team control, but it does count as ML service time. If it is a player that doesn't stay up, it may matter. With Springer, only concern is adding him to the 40 man roster.
No, they wouldn't. Doesn't mean they wouldn't want the 40 man roster spots for other players. Singleton will be added after the season if he isn't added sooner since he will be Rule 5 draft eligible.
Just hit another. 2 for 2, 3 RBIs, 2 HRs. In 11 games now, 4 HRs, 11 RBIs, .400 BA and 1.100 OBPs. Not going to talk about the Ks.
