We would like to think we did.

If you look at Baseball America's top 500 draft board, you can get some idea, though of course it doesn't line up exactly with our draft board.

Here are our high school picks that were listed in their top 500:

    #115 Jacob Nottingham (6th)
    #271 Jason Martin (8th)
    #286 Devonte German (11th)
    #342 Austin Nicely (10th)
    #467 Daniel Pinero (20th)

    College World Series update:

Oregon State allowed 2 in the top of the 8th to Mississippi State, which resulted in a 5-4 loss. Jake Rodriguez was 0-3 with a walk and this web gem, captured in GIF form by TCB's Tim De Block.

They'll face Louisville in the loser's bracket tomorrow at 2:00 PM.

Kent Emanuel and Brian Holberton are in action for North Carolina today as they'll likely take on Carlos Rodon and NC State at 2:00 PM. At 7, Chris Cotton and LSU will face UCLA in the other game in Bracket 2.

He's been missing up quite a bit so far.

41 pitches through 2 for Emanuel.

NC State gets 3 in the 3rd with 2 outs. That 3rd run knocked Emanuel out after 64 pitches in 2 2/3 innings.

Yeah... I think he'll get paid.

German wants $300k, so I think he's pretty much as good as signed. Nicely is the wildcard. He's this year's Hunter Virant, and I'd expect him to want at least $750k. Would be a really good pick, 6'2 175lb lefty with a fastball in the 88-90mph range and possible plus changeup. If he gains some strength, could be 90-93mph, plus change, and hopefully at least an average breaking ball.

Astros County: Astros sign their 27th Round pick.... from 2012 as an undrafted free agent.

Tanner Mathis has signed with the Astros and will be headed to Greeneville. After not hitting below .330 in his first 3 seasons at Ole Miss, Mathis' average dipped to .280, and his slugging percentage dropped 109 points from his junior year. However, he still drew walks at the same rate he's drawn walks and actually got hit by more pitches.

    2013: 61 games, .280/.409/.307, 6 2B, 14 RBI, 46 R, 34 BB (16 HBP), 18 K, 8 SB (5 CS)

Ferguson, a LHP from Northeastern, earned 2nd-team honors in the Colonial Athletic Association this past season, as he went 7-4 with a 2.59 ERA in 14 starts (3 CG, 1 combined shutout). In 104.1 innings, Ferguson allowed 90 hits (6 homers), 33 runs (30 earned), walked 28, and struck out 93. He finished the season with a 1.13 WHIP and a .231 average against.

Brett Clements is a catcher from J.D. Martinez's alma mater, Nova Southeastern University. In 46 games (42 starts) this season, he hit .292/.400/.358 with a home run and 37 RBI. He scored 27 times, walked 24 times (was hit by a pitch 6 times), and struck out 22. Clements was caught on all 3 of his stolen base attempts. He committed 2 errors all season, but only threw out 23% of potential base stealers.
