because PF is our weakest position right now we have a center starting at PF and a SF playing backup PF Brewer is a veteran he already know how to play the game he will be in for matchup and defense purpose he and Brooks will be ready to play when coach ask them to play Jones and Motiejunas will get the time Morey and McHale want to see if they are worth keeping around
While I agree getting the 9th man minutes shouldn't and won't be a huge priority for them, I still think that is how it will happen at least to start the season. If it is ever gonna "click" for either one of D-Mo or Jones, I think it is gonna be through experience in real NBA games, not in practice or the D-league. Another reason they may try and play one of them is to showcase them for a trade. It will be a lot easier for Morey to move one of them if he can point to some success at the NBA level. Of course this could be counterproductive should they both disappoint in the time given.
Garcia and Casspi will play more... Lin and Beverley will play together so they'll play more than 48 combined mins
PG: Bev 30, Lin 18 SG: Harden 38, Lin 7, Garcia 3 SF: Parsons 36, Garcia 12 PF: Howard 20, Casspi 15, DMo and Jones 13 C: Asik 30, Howard 15, ? 3 Predictions: Lin will be demoted to bench, will NOT get 30+ minutes (sorry LOFs, McHale just doesn't trust the kid) Asik will start with Howard, but Howard will defend the 4's. Harden will be overplayed as usual (thanks McHale) Parsons will play a lot of minutes Dmo and Jones relegated to garbage time (McHale is in win now mode)
