I'd be happy for Klopp as my first choice.

    If not Van Gaal.

Man getting players after a world cup is such bad timing. Everyone's prices will be skyrocketed... at least the ones worth signing.

Exactly. I mentioned that a few posts ago. That's a pretty big issue in hiring Van Gaal.

Wow - so he is not going to get his full contract....YIKES....

I wonder if a medium sized club would pick him up, say Fulham etc?

Fulham has mighty Magath, no way they're letting him go. Soon enough every Fulham player will be sprinting as fast as Bale.

You know thatt Van gaal will only be there for 3 years max, after that everybody hates him at the club.

It is nice to see so many Dutch coaches mentioned as possibilities. Our club team might be pathetic, our national team might not make it out of the group stages in Brazil. But atleast our coaches are world class.

True, but he is a really good coach. He would definitely turn Man U around.

I think the plan is to hire Van Gaal to turn the team around, then hand it off to a more long term successor. Maybe Giggs.

That's my problem with bringing on LVG. I think a lot of fans and journalists forget that about him. He was Mourinho (in terms of the way he alienated people at a club) before Mourinho. OMG I just checked to see the time period Mou was a Barca assistant. I thought it was only under Sir Bobby. I forgot he was an assistant under Van Gaal.
Like I wrote, he was Mourinho before Mourinho in terms of wearing out welcomes.

That should've been the plan but I guess SAF didn't feel like thinking out of the box when he had his fellow Scotsman around the corner (despite said Scotsman having never won a bloody trophy before and never having shown any sort of tactical nous).

I'm pretty sure they just bought him out. I'd imagine his people and United came to an agreement on a fee. I dunno and I haven't read the journalist's articles from today yet but I have to believe United wouldn't be paying him his full salary for the next 5 years.

FIFA announced that Barca will be allowed to transfer players this summer, as they need more time to evaluate the situation and properly judge. Guess that savw

accidentally posted before ending my thoughts.

Guess lifting the transfer ban will save Barca, if they're smart they'll wreak gavin on the transfer market this summer and won't need additional transfers later. Kinda makes a future transfer ban obsolete.
