sad to see Mata go he was the best Chelsea player for the last two seasons. I think Chelsea allowing him to go to United signifies that they no longer see United as a threat to the league this year but also in the next few years.

There is no way they would have sold him to Man City.

To me he's all smoke and mirrors and benefited from the great scouting and training at La Masia. We need Laporta back IMO.

That plus the fact that they're done playing United in the League this season. Plus Mourinho has no need for him and Mou, Mike E and Roman decided to cash in on Mata.

United still aren't done being taken to the woodshed this transfer window it seems. In an effort to make the fans think they are doing something positive and will have a chance to get 4th place, word is Gundogan is in play w/Kagawa heading back to Dortmund.

Not sure how much I fancy that when defensive signings are needed just as badly if not more.

Clearly City, Arsenal, Chelsea are superior to Man U this year. Liverpool won't be easy to bump out of 4th.

Arsenal trying to seal the deal for another German, Julian Draxler?

Speculation was summer but I guess they want to try to get him this month. Apparently, Draxler has made it clear he would like to come to Arsenal.

Heard that Rosell got into it w/Madrid's Perez recently in Zurich as Rosell felt that Perez was involved in the Spanish courts inquiry into the Neymar transfer. Guess he felt Madrid was hating since they didn't sign Neymar.

Heard ManU are trying to get their hands on Kroos - ATW, can you confirm? What do you think? IIRC, you don't actually rate him anyway!

Yeah, they are interested, but they have no chance. Man U is crap and will go nowhere with Moyes. It's just part of the salary negotiation with Bayern. He's a good passer and has improved in terms of being a bit more physical than he used to. It's just that I think Schweinsteiger is much better, but it makes sense to keep Kroos.

Exclusive: Real Madrid, Manchester United, Liverpool And 5 Other Top Teams Heading to United States In July

    http://worldsoccertalk.com/2014/01/31/exclusive-real-madrid-manchester-united-liverpool-and-5-other-top-teams-heading-to-united-states-in-july/#70WjJvVcDBM8mH3Y.99

Only disappointment on the news is that Houston is not one of the hosts. But these games will probably be on TV like ESPN or FOX Sports 1 so I'm ok with it.

Just a horrid showing from ManU today. Mata looked like he hasn't played in years. It was windy but his free kicks were just terrible. Nearly all went straight into the hands of the Stoke keeper. They might not qualify for anything in Europe next season at this point. Injuries today certainly hurt. It's never good to have to replace 2 defenders in the first half. But they just look completely discombobulated.

You have to laugh at the way they are running things at Arsenal.

Everyone knows this club needs a striker. Giroud has no one behind him, unless you count Bendtner as a footballer. Even Giroud himself is limited. He is not very mobile and wastes a lot of chances. Arsenal has been wasting the creativity in its midfield by the lack of finishers on the team, especially since Ramsey (he was the best finisher on this team before he went down with injury) went down.

    So what does Wenger do?

Goes ahead and signs a 32 year old Swedish midfielder, Kallstrom, on a 6 month loan.

Says their midfield (which supposedly is the strength of the team) is lacking depth due to injuring and suspension.

Here is the kicker: Kallstrom's back is injured though and he wont be able to play for atleast 3 months!

So, Wenger brings in an injured old timer to back up other injured players on a 6 month loan? Someone help me make sense of this because I certainly cant.

With Ramsey out another month or more and Arsenal not having signed any striker, I expect them to drop below Man City and Chelsea. Ramsey's brilliant form and his goal scoring was the reason Arsenal were able to cover up Giroud's weakness. The problem will be exposed now

With the way things are being run at Arsenal, I do not think Ozil will stay there for too long.

Sounds like you are quite critical. I am actually a bit concerned about the matchup with Arsenal. Not because of Özil, but because they are well-coached and gave us some trouble when we thought we didn't need to take them seriously anymore last year. As for Özil, he is a good player, but I don't think he would play at Bayern. Götze is better.

LOL, patience man. He has been given a 6 year contract for a reason. United are not an organization that hires and fires. Next season, things should be much better.
