Dallas isn't too good and hasn't been for a while. I would say you'd be fine to watch them. I am completely different to the Stars, but it is hard to consider cheering for a Dallas team.
The dreamy Cheryl Scott. I don't know why, but they're all usually hot so that's why I watch the segment. Become a Hawks fan. I think we have 3 Hawks fans on Cfans. A 4th member would be nice.
Whatever you do don't become a Red Wing fan. I'm from Michigan, but became an Av fan because the Red Wing fan base is horrible. Bunch of stupid homer fans who no nothing about the sport. They just call themselves fans because the Wings have been good for so long. Obviously not from Texas so I can't speak to the Houston/Dallas dynamic, but the Stars wouldn't be a bad team to root for. They were able to pick up Tyler Seguin from Boston and pair him with Jamie Benn to give them two young dynamic forwards to build around for the future. They also changed there unis and went back to their original color scheme and got rid of their God awful jerseys they used to wear. I'll also pimp my team and recommend the Avs. We have an unbelievable young core that is already playing great. Duchene and MacKinnon will be a treat to watch over the next 10-15 years as they are both lightning fast, super skilled, and have good scoring ability. Plus with Roy as the coach anything can happen.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>BREAKING: Colorado Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov turns himself in to Denver Police for domestic violence charges. Story forthcoming</p>— Ryan Parker (@ryanparkerdp) <a href="https://twitter.com/ryanparkerdp/statuses/395715406091935744">October 31, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Its a crazy situation for sure. Patrick Roy had something similar happen back in 2001 and spent the night in jail. Roy's situation turned out to be an argument with his wife, than he hit a door that wasn't hinged properly so it flew out and scared his wife who called the police. Colorado law dictated that the parties have to be removed from one another in a domestic situation so Patrick was taken. Nothing came of it as there were no charges and his wife and family were in attendance later that year as the Avs won the cup. Varlamov's situation is a little different as he allegedly took someone against there will. Not sure if the DA automatically prosecutes or if its up to the abducted party to prosecute. Because if its up to the abducted who is either a wife or girlfriend, than they may not file charges and this too could go away.

Versteeg back with the Hawks. He hasn't played well on the Panthers from what I've read, but he might be able to get his mojo back on a playoff team. Plus it's only a 50% cap hit, which is definitely a positive. I think it's a win-win trade for both teams.
I'm not familiar with the guys going to Florida, so I'm not sure what was in it for them; I heard a rumor that they're still picking up part of KV's salary? It's obnoxious how many hot teams there are in the West right now.The top 8 is stacked. The Coyotes are basically having their best season-start in franchise history and I still feel like we have to claw for every game to stay afloat. Fun season so far.
A very good Winter Classic game between the Leafs and the Wings. There was one problem in this. It occurred in OT, at the 2:30 mark, when the refs stopped play during a breakaway by the Red Wings. Is that a new rule? I think Detroit got screwed there.

During the third period, at the ten minute mark, they switch sides. In OT, they do the same at the halfway point. I guess it's to keep it fair.
I don't follow much hockey besides just checking standings here and there. Any Dallas Stars fans here?
