Anyone interested in choosing a book to read on goodreads.com?

Lets bring out our inner geeks.

I can make a list of 10 suggestions and everyone could either choose from the list or add their recommendations. Once we get at least 3-4 votes for a book, then I guess those that are interested can participate or hold out for the next book. Maybe read a book per month? We can decide on that as well.

    The initial list:
    Gone Girl
    The Art of Fielding
    American Sniper
    Room
    The Night Circus
    Lolita
    Ready Player One
    Water for Elephants
    Unbroken
    The Stranger

    Lets get some suggestions...

Water For Elephants has been on my list forever...Ive heard so many good things about it, but for some reason, I need a "push" towards it. Im fine with that selection as well.

We'll wait it out until tomorrow to get some other opinions.

I'll read whatever book you guys choose. I would like Ready Player One, but I've already read it. I'm just slightly obsessed with it and would love a chance to tlak with other folks about it. But I'll happily do whichever book you guys choose.

I thought water for elephants was a great novel, and I would reread it. I'd also recommend shadow of the wind. I've read it twice but am about to reread it again with the sequel's release next month. I'm always trying to get people to read my favorite novel. Maybe next month for that one.

blankets is one of my favorite books ever. i read it in a day, hours. just could not put it down.

it was creepy how much i identified with the main character's adventures with evangelical christianity. anyone who has ever struggled in their faith will find it a very poignant read.beautiful illustrations too.

Let's pick a book. I want to get it if I don't have it, and start reading. Should be cool.

Ready player one seems very interesting as well

    EDIT:
I'm reading middlesex right now. I'm on chapter two and it isn't "amazing" yet. I hope it gets better

Once y'all decide on a book (or now), y'all should start a new book club discussion thread and leave this one for the original intent.

Okay, everyone pick two books. The first book to get 5 nominations will be the one chosen. Fair?

I need to think for 20 min, haha.
