hate lebron for the way he announced his 'decision' if you will... he gloated and seemed to be having fun at the expense of the rest of the league. (i'm wasn't a fan of that either - and he's acknowledged that he should've done that differently) that said, what he did was brilliant. he could've rotted away in cleveland just like stockton and malone in utah, barkely with phx/hou, reggie miller in ind, etc... never achieving the ultimate goal of winning a championship. what he did takes enormous balls. he left his home state and the only team he ever played for to take his career and legacy into his own hands. he got all the hate for his choice. now it's time to give respect where it's due. there's nothing wrong with wanting to win. and knowing you need help to do it. and when one's legacy is determined by the number of championships won, why should any of us criticize an NBA player for putting that goal ahead of everything else?
So if picking Miami to win it all was such an easy choice (which I think it was very easy....) then why did so many clutchfans want to bet tip jar money with me that they would lose? Do you know how many bet offers I received? Go look at the game threads and voting for the Indiana, Boston, and OKC series. Majority did not pick the heat to win any of those series. And the same for last year with Boston, Chicago, Dallas.
LeBron named 2012 Sportsman of the year. What a year for the King. Was very fun to read through this thread again.
