Saw the new Altima yesterday and thought it looked like a baby Maxima. They put some tech goodies into it, not to mention damn good mileage from their dinky engine : http://www.nissanusa.com/all-new-altima/
all these compact sedans eventually evolve to look like their larger sibling, holds true for corolla/camry, civic/accord, elantra/sonata, altima/maxima altima looks nice, the current gen still looks very nice, and has nicer interiors than camry/accord, it feels like toyota and honda are relying on their reputation to sell cars... like what ford/gm did in the 90s, look where that got them, fortunately nissan isn't following the japanese brands' formula, even if nissan rode their coattails to get here
The Acura and Altimas look horrible if you was me. Whereas - though obviously not production stage - the Mazda 6 concept looks great.
Yup. This is one reason why I waited until late-2012 - 2013 to probably buy a new car. So many new/re-designed models coming out. I think Honda/Acura tech is solid, if no longer cutting edge, but they completely lost their design language. If anything, that's where they regressed the most. They should've stolen an Audi designer like Hyundai/Kia did. lol. I test drove the new RDX the other day. It was alright, but the electric steering was lame. It also seemed like too much money for what you got. I'm seriously going to look into this Altima when it comes out. The new Accord sedan should be out by the end of the year, too, I think. Hopefully they made more cosmetic changes than the "new" coupe did. I can't stand the Camry. Toyota takes a design and decides to make some crack-induced origami out of it - talk about overdesigning.
Acura is seriously the lame duck in the luxury brand division... none of their stuff is even compelling anymore... I understand the strong attachment to TLs on this board, but their current stuff is way overpriced. If I may, I definitely suggest giving the Ford Fusion a look when it's time to narrow down the selection. The 2013 model looks absolutely fantastic. I find the Accord terribly overpriced, it has the reliability of the Honda badge, but the car is just uninspiring. Hyundai and Ford are the two makers I'm really leaning towards. Especially the fantastic looking new Genesis and K9 from the Korean maker.

The Fusion really took me by surprise when I first saw it. It's a really nice looking car. It's not your typical Ford design - probably because a Brit designed it and I think it's based on a Mondeo design. Speaking of Ford, I saw the new Lincoln MKZ the other day with that crazy panoramic sunroof where the whole roof seems to slide back : <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/1SHPnk443XY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
