It recently opened this week, and some of the newer American offerings impress me the most. A couple of examples: 2014 Chevy Impala Spoiler Spoiler 2013 Lincoln MKZ Spoiler Spoiler Here's a link to updating coverage: http://www.caranddriver.com/2012-new-york-auto-show
I was at Ford headquarters in Dearborn last week, and I am really interested in their 55mpg focus that is releasing next year.

Both are powered by a twin-turbo, 445-horsepower, 4.4-liter V8, which BMW says can propel the all-wheel-drive version from 0-62 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds. (The rear-wheel-drive model is a tick slower at 4.6 seconds.) The 640i goes on sale in late June, with the V8 models coming towards the end of summer. 2012 M6 Convertible 2012 M6 Convertible commanding all of $113,995 when it goes on sale in June. Source: Autoblog 2013 Cayenne Diesel The updated engine is a second-generation turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, rated at 240 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. Mated to a standard eight-speed automatic transmission, the automaker says it will run to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 135 mph. The Cayenne Diesel is rated to tow a segment-leading 7,716 pounds and boasts a highway range of 740 miles thanks to its 28 mpg highway rating.
Source: Jalopnik 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG V12 Roadster If we haven't hit peak oil yet, surely the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG V12 Roadster will lead the parade into a lawless hellscape where you'll sell your children for a jerry-can of premium. It'll be worth it, trust me. Take my hand and follow the sweetly resonant thump-thump-thump of an AMG 6.0-liter V12 and its 738 lb-ft of gravity twisting torque to the Thunderdome. I'm not one to get overly excited about Mercedes roadsters. They tend to whisper when I prefer my luxury drop-top sports cars to scream. The new SL 65 V12 lets out a banshee yell with the engine off. Though, given the 621 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque, I'd recommend keeping the glorious mill on as much as possible. Bad for your checkbook. Terrible for the environment. Good for the soul. There's no consensus about the aesthetic of the new SL, but I'm smitten with it. There's not much homage here. Just strong character lines and a perfect silhouette whose gentle rake implies a continuum of motion. It also has a quality of lightness, backed up by an increase in aluminum that provides a decrease of 254 pounds over the outgoing body. This particular SL 65 is one of the "45th Anniversary Edition" cars built to celebrate the car's anniversary. They're only building 45 of these collector's items, each in this handsome Designo Magno Graphite color. Other exclusive details include high-gloss chrome everywhere, a "twin blade" grille, matte finish carbon fiber on the exterior bits, and a carbon fiber/aluminum engine cover. Prices will be astronomical and absolutely worth it.
Actually its coming from a turbocharged 1.0 liter engine with 125 hp and 145 pounds of torque. Not going to be fast but will perform the same as a hybrid without the extra cost.
That looks like they were building a beautiful car, got to the front end and said, screw it, we're out of time. Do we have any 190E front ends from 1988 left?
"...oh and make sure those new LED encrusted lights fit in the frame as well. We have to have those since they are all the rage nowadays"
Hide under a rock much? These are going to be standard for all cars in Germany starting around 2014 and in the states around 2016. Get used to it.
Maybe i needed to include a or a "lol" to my comment so that it would be interpreted as the joke it was meant to be.
Source: Autoblog Acura RLX Concept There is no sugar-coating the fact that the Acura RL has been a dud since Day One. Honda's luxury brand is painfully aware of this fact, especially since next to nobody purchased the pricey sedan. Then again, the RL has suffered the indignity of being outgunned by a lower-priced model from within its own portfolio, so we can see how selling one has been an uphill climb for dealers. But Acura has an all-new luxury flagship waiting in the wings, and it's seen its first light of day as the RLX Concept, which just debuted at the New York Auto Show. Spoiler
Totally agree! We have a little one now and so we had to get a grown up car. But I just cant let my S2k go. My first car! I just cant say goodbye.
When will the world auto manufacturers come to their senses and let Hot Wheels design all of the new cars?
Looks like Chrysler did... Source: Autoblog 2013 SRT Viper The wait is finally over. Dodge... excuse us, SRT has officially pulled the wraps off the 2013 Viper, and it's everything we were hoping it would be. Let's discuss numbers: 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque from a front/mid-mounted 8.4-liter V10 and the best power-to-weight ratio of any Viper ever built. In fact, the 2013 SRT Viper's 4.9 pounds per horsepower puts it just behind the Bugatti Veyron and Ferrari F12 and ahead of such performance stalwarts as the Lamborghini Aventador and Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. What's more, this engine has no turbocharger or supercharger, and those 600 lb-ft make this V10 the most torque-rich naturally aspirated production engine in the world.
The center stack on the Acura RL prototype is freaking awesome. I'm not a huge fan of the exterior, especially the rear, but the interior looks sweet.
