I am going to say it, but it does not mean I will be able to follow through. If the Heat win I will stop watching the NBA.

Unfortunately I have moved out of the Rockets local area network nearly a decade ago and have told my wife on numerous occasions that I am going to stop watching the Rockets, and she just laughs. It bugs me that it is one of those circumstances when you know that other know you better than you know yourself. It ticks me off.

It would just be wrong, taking it up the Stern. There had always been a big market, small market issue, but adding letting the players choose where and who they want to play with makes me feel like a patsy.

Think if Jordan went to play with Magic and Kareem. Sacrifice a bit in salary for all the endorsement money related to being part of a dream team. Think of how hard it seems for the Rockets to struggle back to even a potential contending team, not a true contender, a top three seed at the very minimum.

I guess the meaning of the word has evolved, and I have become a Heat hater. That just sounds wrong, but in the current vernacular, it may well be true. So be it.

Miami winning one game in the finals is one too many for me.

    Dear Puritans,

I don't really hate your god, I just find it fun to root against him.

I think OKC in 6. OKC had their worst offensive 1st half of there playoffs and the game still came down to Durant making or missing a shot that was a foul (but he still should have made) I think Battier cools of sometime and OKC stops their early woes and plays the game the way they know they can play.

    This isn't an original thought.

    It will bring on:
    - you need good teammates to win a championship
    - if a team can trade you, you should be able to leave
    - would you let management decide how your career ends up?
    - every great team that has won multiple championships had multiple HoF's
    - kobe stayed (only throwing everyone in LA under the bus, including fans)
    - but kg, ray allen left (but he was old)
    - so you can only leave after you've wasted 10 years in a crap market?
    - yes because loyalty is super important
    - CLE is not NY, LA, CHI, or PHI no one wants to play there
    - If LeBron stayed Amare would have gone there.
    - Amare is trash
    - super teams sux and LBJ is the anti-christ

I enjoyed LeBron's shortcomings many years ago but it's hard not to root for him now. Minor ego antics aside (understandable for a 21-25 year old), he's been a respectable person. If people were OK watching some teams with 3-4 all-stars play together before The Decision, they should be fine with it now (or they believe management is the only acceptable way of winning). If LAL and BOS didn't go from lottery-bound teams in 2007 to repeated appearances in the finals and LeBron was the first to initiate a super-team, I'd understand things a bit more. Of course that's not the case so, basically, people are just bitter and are using LBJ as an excuse to express whatever it is that they have going.

If you look into stats or circumstances enough and were picking things out, you could say at least 20 things in favor of Miami too:

    - Dwade has been injured and they managed to steal 1 in OKC
    - Both Wade and LBJ are due for an explosive output (35-40pts)
    - Bosh is back and in their first game together as starters this year in the finals and they handed OKC their first loss at home in the playoffs. Basically, they are undefeated and I see no reason why this doesn't continue, especially with 3 games in Miami coming up. teehee
    - KD is bound to have a couple poor shooting nights because...
    - According stats "xxxx", the Heat are lucky to be 1-1 because when "xxxx" shoots at "xxxx" they are "x-x"

KD had a poor shooting night all of the first half. Lebron and Wade won't explode that way becuase of Thabo and Durant and Harden. Bosh was there last game and it took a complete effort by the Heat to win a close game that should have gone to overtime after leading by 17 to a Thunder team playing their worst basketball.

Yeah. I just don't see him doing it consistently for the rest of the series.

Posted @ 06-10-2012, 03:53 PM The spreads were covered as I predicted.

Gonna update it to the best of my knowledge. It's hard to predict a seven game series from the start, so getting every game right is my goal. Updated prediction:

Heat win game 3 and cover the spread.
    Heat win game 4.
Thunder win game 5 and obviously cover the spread.
    Thunder win game 6.
Heat win game 7 and obviously cover the spread.

Whenever I see him touch the ball I start screaming "SHOOT IT SHANE!" after 2 or 3 he's done for the night.

I DARE him to shoot cuz I know he'll miss, he got lucky game 2.

I'm guessing if the Rockets got James, Wade and Bosh you wouldn't stop watching them if the won the NBA finals, so you know what that makes you? A ridiculous hypocrite. I hope you see it.

I would be mad if we traded our team for Miami's. It's just not Rockets culture. We win through chemistry and hardwork, not by building superteams with persuading words and money.

Sports are about love and hate. You love certain teams and players and you hate certain teams and players. Being a hater in regards to sports just means you are a fan.

Yeah, you are guessing. But you are sure enough to jump right into name calling.

Doubt that you will see it.
