Says who? Have you ever seen him play in person? The guy rebounds and plays defense at a very high level of focus.

Durant was guarded by Shawn Marion and Ron Artest in this playoffs already. So if you expect that now when he will be guarded by Lebron(and I can assure you that it will mostly be Shane Battier), that's gonna be something new, it won't be. Also once again Durant is averaging 30 points per game in past two years vs. Heat.

LBJ is a better defender than current version of Ron Artest and Shawn Marion.

But yes, Battier is more likely to defend him for a large chunk of the game, especially if they go to a small lineup which would see LBJ guarding Ibaka.

The main problem is Lebron will be exhausted if he guards Durant all game all series after all the minutes he's logged in the playoffs

Defence and rebounding is two of the most overrated things about lebron. Lebron is good defender, close to elite, but he is not the best defender in the league.

Rebounding...Durant who is just a scorer for some people averaged 8 rebounds per game in regular season which is something lebron has never done it in his career(7.9 best), even though he is on bad rebounding team unlike Durant. Lebron doesn't have big mans who are on the floor just to rebounds and defend and then also point guard, guard off the bench and power forward off the bench who averaged more than 4 rebounds per game.

Durant's court vision and passing isn't touching Lebrons.

Lebron's inability to play off-ball and be efficent without the ball isn't touching Durants.

Lebron played really well off the ball against the Celtics.

Durant(5.3) averaged more assists in conference finals than Lebron(3.9).

LBJ can't guard Durant all game and be expected to carry the load offensively as well. He's still young but he ain't that young. Plus Durant is a load.

Apparent u didnt watch da east finals. Lebron had to go into kobe mode and score all da points cuz his teammates decided not to show up. His assist probly woulda been 10+ a game if his garbage teammates had hit all da wide open practice shot he dished em. But you dont get da assist if they dont hit they shots! Derp

Are you really gonna even try and argue that Durant is a better playmaker than Lebron? Wow.

What's the point of saying that Durant averaged more assists?

Lebron's teammates suck compared to Durant's in the playoffs. Wade has done absolutely nothing in the first half of games. Bosh was out.

Durant has a far superior supporting cast. The Heat are the underdogs in these finals.

That's why I mentioned ability to play off ball before. Durant is dominating the ball way less than Westbrook. When Lebron will dominate ball less than Wade you can argue about help. Wade was basically primarly scorer and playmaker for his entire career. Now he have to play off the ball, he doesn't get to dominate ball as he did before and he is not a good off ball player so it hurts him and his production. That's why Durant is better to build around even though Lebron is better overall player. You want to build better overall team, not have better overall player.

If you switched Durant and lebron, Heat would be favorite.

No... but if you switched Wade and Durant, the Heat would be favored. The problem isn't LeBron, it's DWade.

let me explain. If you switched Durant and Lebron....wade would become primarly ball handler again. He would not be first scoring option, but he would be best playmaker and would dominate ball most. Wade is still better and more efficent scorer than Westbrook. He just doesn't get so many shots like Westbrook - Wade was averaging 17 shot attempts in regular season, Westbrook averaged 19.1 shot attempts. And that's ability of Kevin Durant to not have the ball and still be efficent.

On the other hand...How would Westbrook and Lebron coexist? The only good perimeter shooter would be Harden. Spacing would be problem just like it it right now on Miami offense. Westbrook would get less shot attempts. Also Harden would not dominate ball so much as he does right now and even though he is better offensive all around player than Lebron, it would hurt him also.
