    The greatest part about that?

Republicans googling "santorum." (yes, stole this from reddit)

I disagree. I think that roving band of votes are more likely to go towards Huntsman since that band dislikes Romney; that's the reason why they've gone from Bachmann to Perry to Cain to Gingrich and finally to Santorum. I'm crossing my fingers that they go to Huntsman next, because I really don't see them leaving him. He's the one candidate that won't scare people away. He put all his eggs into the Massachusetts basket (and none in the Iowa basket), so hopefully it'll result in some hatched chickens.

But the GOP base has proven that they really don't know what's best, honestly. This is the biggest detriment to Huntsman's campaign.

    so bachman's out...perry's busy preparing his withdrawal speach...paul fizzled...and santorum(who?) popped.

looks like it's Romney. Yippeee. Pull up a chair next to Bob Dole and Michael Dukakis in the trivia hall of presidential hopefuls without a hope.

"Republican voters know they're going to end up back with Romney much in the way a sixteen year old Amish boy knows that his six months with an iPod will ultimately give way to decades of hand-tool barn-building." - Jon Stewart

Liberal scum opinions not needed in this thread. This thread is about America and how we will undo all the hogwash that the Obama administration has forced down our throats

Good grief, why are GOP presidential nominees so whacked out from the norm?

Iowa was a blow to Romney, He managed only 25% of the vote yet again, "winning" by only 8 votes against a proud extremist, Rick Santorum. If Romney fails to win New Hampshire (and I think he will "win" the state) by a decisive margin, the race blows wide open again. In my opinion. Romney's problem, and it is unfair, is that he's seen by far too many religious fundamentists, who exert an influence on the Republican Party all out of proportion to their numbers, as belonging to a religious cult (oh, the irony!). I can't see how he's going to escape that image in South Carolina, and if he doesn't show strong in South Caroloina, he may as well buy a new set of golf clubs. He's going to have plenty of time to practice his game.

if not Romney then who? Lots of reasons why he's not the guy....but no one else has a better shot. I don't think an Anyone But Mitt campaign has anywhere else to go. Not Paul. Not Santorum. Not Ginrich. Not Huntsman. The Donald has declined. Perry may have had a bit of the image, but apart from his own implosion he was always far too much in the image of Bush. Too soon. The cupboard is bare.

I guess given where they came from in 2008 and the President's continued popularity this isn't too surprising. There were no stars in this campaign. No Gulliani's, no Fred Thompsons (remember him?). Cain was about the best outside guy with a decent resume, but he came across as even wackier then the rest. Expect better candidates in 2016 when they stand a chance of winning.

I mean huntsman is doing more than campaigning for 2012. Even if he finishes 3rd or 4th, getting your name out there can help you maybe get a better shot in 2016.

Typical liberal scum response. Can't come up with a witty response so steal something from reddit or quote Jon Stewart. Can we please get back to talking about who is the man that is going to lead this country? I like what Santorum was able to do last night but I have some questions about his abilities to enforce birth control laws. I would like nothing better than to see women kept under lock and key like it was back when our grandfathers killed the Japs and Nazis and came back heroes. That is the America I want back.

With all due respect, you are either kidding or absolutely crazy. I hope you were kidding. If not, please consider medical help. I'm serious.

I agree with this - he's setting himself up for an Obama victory, and coming back in 2016 and saying "see, crazy can't win - pick me!". Lots can change in 4 years, but I do think that's his best route to the Presidency. And I think a good one, too.
