Sheila Jackson Lee said this morning that Republicans are opposed to raising the debt ceiling because Obama is black.

well, you've replied twice to state you're not going to reply. might be easier to just say what you mean.

the republicans got beat in 2008; they went back to basics. nothing radical there.

unless, you're making some sort of veiled sheila jackson lee charge?

Could I possibly disagree more? I think not.

    - You have no more reason to draw conclusions about why the staffers roughed up the reporter than I have to draw conclusions about what her medical condition is (if any) or than noted nut gwayneco has to pronounce that he knows Obama's mind and that Obama "thinks he's God." You are making a guess here and presenting it as fact. You know that ain't right.

    - You can choose not accept the quotes from the anonymous staffers, but that will not make their words or Bachmann's need to address the issue go away. I expect that the staffers, anonymous or not, did make the exact statements for which they were quoted and that they wouldn't have been quoted without vetting. I think we can agree that would be extraordinarily unusual. And I tend to think they know better than you or I or anyone else that hasn't spent time on her staff. Maybe they are disgruntled and therefore lying, that's possible. But until they are debunked they are the authorities on this and your choice not to believe them is kind of irrelevant.

    - I covered the woman thing before and you might be right that it plays into an unfair negative stereotype, but that does nothing to mitigate the fact that there is question as to whether her health makes her an unfit choice for president. True or not, male or female, she will have to address this. Regardless of gender when health is called into question, it must be answered. If there is any chance of her having a condition that proves incapacitating, she shouldn't be president. Period. She will have to answer this and she will have to provide medical records. This is true of every serious candidate and it has nothing to do with her being a woman.

I didn't reply to say I wouldn't reply; I replied to say I've done so exhaustively already and you know it. You never even give the benefit of a single reply when you are questioned and I always do (with the one exception of you who has behaved so badly on this very front).

My charge is neither veiled nor does it have anything to do with going back to basics; it has to do with unprecedentedly radical behavior, which I have detailed here to the point of a nigh-manic repetitiveness.

Now I'm done with you. Bye, troll.

Is Sheila Jackson Lee an "Obama official?" If so, I was wrong and I apologize. If not, please go back and re-read my post.

nothing the republican, nor the tea party has done since 2008 has been remotely radical, unless you find the idea of grandma protesting the disappearance of her life savings, or grandpa the squandering of his grandchildren's financial wherewithal, somehow radical.

Regardless of your "gotcha" post (you betcha), every single modern candidate for the presidency has been asked to provide medical records as a part of determining fitness for office. That being the case, how is this beating up on a woman?

Why oh why do I continue with you who are so opposed to ever answering a challenge yourself? Just stupid, I guess. (Usually when I use the word "stupid" I am talking of you not me, but here I am the dumb one for continuing to give your posts the respect you never ever give others.)

Let's start with just one example: the unprecedented use of the filibuster on virtually every single issue and a stated strategy of opposing every single thing Obama proposes, no matter what, in order to damage his re-election chances over sincerely trying to pass legislation that will address the nation's very great issues (you already know what McConnell said on this: 'Number one priority is to defeat Obama.' Not jobs, not deficit, politics. This has literally never happened before) from nominees to legislation. You can look up the rest. I'm tired of your BS. I've answered this a lot of times and in a lot of ways; you've answered questions never.

i would disagree that the use of the filibuster since 2008 is unprecedented; you have apparently forgotten how democrats obstructed W's nominees.

blocking legislating that would bankrupt the country, something the republicans have only seriously opposed since the 2010 mid-terms, is a good thing, something all americans should be thankful for.

as to the McConnell's comment, you're reading far to much into it- he's approached his minority leader position no differently from his predecessors, or Pelosi/Reid when they were in the majority in 2006-8.

It truly is amazing that there are rational people that believe this

google is your friend (or in bassso's case, your enemy)

The Senate has overseen the slowest pace of judicial staffing in at least a generation, with a paltry 39.8 percent of Obama's judges having been confirmed, according to numbers compiled by Senate Democrats. Of the 103 district and circuit court nominees, only 41 have been confirmed.

By this time in George W. Bush's presidency, the Senate had confirmed 76 percent of his nominees.

I get that your first reaction is always to be defensive, but we've had this talk before. I don't treat you with any disrespect and never have on this forum. Keep that in mind and give me the benefit of the doubt.

There was no gotcha involved as obviously SJL is not an Obama official. I read your post. I just thought it was interesting to mention since I had just heard that moments before our conversation.

Furthermore, I'm not saying that anyone is beating up on Bachmann at this point. I do believe that the nature of this medical condition (headaches) will lead to PEOPLE playing up the weak woman stereotype.

reality and facts seem to already be beating up on Bachmann, so no need for any of us to try,

We're cool, man. I wasn't actually feeling defensive when I posted that. I just saw an opportunity for a Palin joke so I took it.

I agree with you that a health problem (esp. stress related) would play into unfortunate stereotypes about women.

And I like talking with you, so please don't take any offense. You're a sharp guy. I wouldn't give you a hard time (even if I have in the past) except in a jokey way.

Right. If you come back to defend your obviously fallacious statements, even after dinner, heck let's just say ever, it will be the first time in years.
