This probably happens every year and I'm just quick to forget about it, but it seems like there are a lot of really mediocre teams that find themselves floating around the top 10 or 15. Florida, Clemson, Oklahoma, Stanford, Nebraska and UCLA really seem to fit that bill.
Georgia's loss came in humiliating fashion (35-7), and their only marquee win (Florida) is highly suspect. I also wouldn't drop Bama behind Ohio State, who squeaked by the likes of Indiana, Purdue and Cal. I think 4 is justified, especially considering that Georgia and Alabama will play on the field in a couple of weeks.
Alabama is certainly better than Georgia and should be the top rated one-loss team. Ohio State gets no respect because they play in the patsy league Big Ten. Alabama and Georgia will settle it on the field in 3 weeks.
Alabama at 4 is right. They're the best 1 loss team out there. If everything goes as it should, then Georgia will meet Alabama and I'm almost positive that Georgia will get blown out. I don't trust Georgia, although I will be rooting for them.
Im hoping that all 3 of those teams stay undefeated and it blocks the SEC tyranny. Then lets be honest its going to come down to who is going to draw more ticket/revenue sales and ratings (college football is fixed), So id say Oregon vs ND. One more thing isnt there an old saying that goes to be the best you gotta beat the best... Aggies only moved up to #9....
He won't say that he outright banned playing any games against A&M just like he did against UH. All I see is that lone star showdown is dead, A&M wanted to keep the rivalry alive, and UT's PR statements summed up to giving them the cold shoulder.
It's not in Texas's best interest to keep the annual game alive. That would mean Texas would have 10 set games for every season. After the 2 cupcake(preseason) games, there would be no place left for teams that fans want to see Texas play against like Notre Dame, UCLA, USC and BYU. As a life long Texas fan, I would rather have some variety in the schedule than play A&M every year. Sure we would like to play A&M once in while. Just not every year.
Figured it was only a matter of time. Clay Travis, who is probably the biggest Tennessee fan working in media today, seems to think Jon Gruden has interest in the job. If true, I think it would be a fantastic choice. He was a grad assistant at Tennessee and even though he doesn't have any real recruiting experience, he seems like the type that would be a recruiting ace. Even if Gruden isn't interested or offered the job, Tennessee should have a great selection of coaches to choose from. It's easy to forget given how mediocre that program has been for at least 6 or 7 years, but that's a premier coaching job. I'm guessing Bobby Petrino and Charlie Strong will be among the other guys mentioned here.

Bottom line from this is 2 of the top 3 teams must lose for Alabama to make the BCS title game. Plus, they still have to beat Georgia. It ain't over yet, but this is probably not the SEC's year.
I wasn't just talking about the football game. And at least I can buy that one. It's easier for the SEC/ACC teams to maintain their in-state rivalries due to both having 4 OOC games. However, they're not playing each other in ANY sport. What's the excuse for that one?
I'm a Georgia fana nd even I know that Bama should be ranked higher than we are. We have hit our groove lately and have a favorable schedule, but it all depends on the Championship game December 1 against what will surely be Bama.
