In hindsight the loss vs Chelsea was the best thing that maybe ever happened to our club, marked a turnaround and start of an era.
I was really just hoping for a non-Classico final. I don't care who's in it, as long as it doesn't end up Barca AND Real. You can't keep calling something classic if they play each other every 2 weeks. Looks like I'm going to get my wish. If Bayern even manages 1 goal in the next leg, it's beyond over as Barca would have to score 6 against the hottest team on the planet.
Amazing how much all has changed by this one match. Barcelona not looking invincible anymore. Dare I say, Bayern are the clear favorites? Who woulda thunk?
Wow!! I can't remember such an @ss whipping this late in the Champions League stages. I wonder what the over/under for the next game is going to be. How does a team like Barcelona even play a game they themselves must know is just hopeless no matter what.
First off what a great performance from Bayern and their fans. Now more than ever I love you Barca, I will forever support you in the good and bad. May this be a wake up call for Rosell and co we need CBs urgently. You cant depend on Messi to score every single goal we need a forward with guarantees. Having said that, I refuse to believe this is an end of an era. Barca still has a great team.. Messi is only 25 and Neymar will probably come in the summer alongside Hummels and a forward. I see Barca being a strong force in the summer transfer window.
Brilliant. In a single game, Heynckes silenced the Board of Bayern, Josep Guardiola, Barcelona and football fans worldwide. Pep must be sweating right now. How silly Bayern must feel right now to fire a coach who may yet end up with a historic treble. I really hope Real advance and test themselves against this Bayern team. Would be a great game.
Well I was thoroughly enjoyed that total annihilation. Never liked Barca. I thought it was because he's retiring? Besides, I think Pep is the right man to lead Bayern to multiple trebles to come.
Not quite. http://www1.skysports.com/football/...decision-to-retire-was-not-entirely-voluntary Bayern were flirting with Pep from the start. Can't really blame them if you compare CV's, but there is much to be said about the right fit. We'll see how many titles Guardiola will win applying his style to a German team whose strengths are not the same as your typical Spanish team. I'm not sure it suits their current personnel. My feeling is that he will have to make a lot of personnel changes to an already-excellent squad just to get back to this same level of competitiveness.
Reaaaaally curious what Pep will do with our squad. The system&team we have right now is crushing everything in its path and tiki taka may be dead. They wanted to bring in Pep to change parts of our system but right now it seems that we should keep 100% of our formula and players(except for Lewandowski, he'd improve our team).
I see, thanks for the link. I thought he was retiring because of his advanced age. I think Pep is capable of adjusting to the German style. I doubt he'll make too many changes. Maybe Super Mario will go, but then again, I think he should be replaced regardless. Would be funny though if he changed Bayern into another version of tiki taka. That would make ATW's comment even more humorous.
Bayern is already most "tiki-taka" of all non-Barca teams. I don't think the style is dead. But Bayern has refined it and added more power and speed and pressure on the ball, rather than holding the ball endlessly and passing it around (like we did under van Gaal).
