Oh yeaaah... Pool with a 4-0 of Martinez. Glad I stuck around to watch the game. Notes: - Why in the friggin hell is Rogers insistent on giving Carra his undeserved farewell tour minutes? He's retiring because he sucks now. Why give him minutes at the cost of Turtle? - Coutinho is the real deal! Suarez, Cou, Sturridge looks like a good core. Now if they can purchase some real talent to replace the likes of Hendo, Allen, Downing (altho he's impressed lately), etc. - Gerrard has been very mediocre this season. Is all. - Oh and Suarez is on 20 goals for the season, overtaking RVP who is at 19.
You guys don't watch Bundesliga enough. I think the DFL (Bundesliga) has been doing a bad job marketing itself abroad.
More like no marketing at all. I think the rank for TV time goes like this: EPL > La Liga >>>> Ligue 1 at least from what I see. Weird considering they have 4 CL spots.
Agreed on both...I was able to see both games Saturday and it should be a great match.. I'll take a late lunch and watch tomorrow...Barca just isn't getting it done..
Couldn't catch the MU v RM game, but did see the highlights. Looked like a good game with MU going on the offense. LOL at Nani getting a red. Hate that racist.
Liverpool with a great comeback!!!!!!! yyuususususussss! Suck it AVB for your overconfident comment, "we will ruin Reds' top four hopes"!! Realistically, top for is way out of reach like last month ago, but it's nice to stick it to AVB. We'll trade Sturridge + picks for Bale.
Freaking De Gea always there to bail United out. Chelsea are gonna rue not finishing United off when they had the chance.
Found this online and it just made my week. It will warm even the coldest of football supporters hearts(yes even the madridistas ) This 9yr old blind Barca fan meets his favourite players and identifies them by touch <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/eV6gVt7gzLw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
How did the kid know the players by touch?? Pretty amazing. I don't understand Spanish, but I assume he's never seen a soccer game in his life (blind since birth?). So he has someone describe to him what happens on the field like a radio play by play? Makes you appreciate eye sight. What a gift.
They gave him a few hints. "Somos los que intentamos que no nos marquen goles" [EL PINTO, off camera] - "¡Ah, el Pinto!" "We are the ones who try to not have [others] score goals on us" [EL PINTO]
Don't know why I'm even posting here. I guess I need to vent after LFC gets humiliated by a relegation team. This should hurt extra after players like Gerrard claims a 4th spot is not an impossibility. There was no defense, whatsoever. Dude walked in the box and ALL FOUR defenders just stood there keeping their distance like he gots teh aidz. Put Ricky Rubio as the sole defender and he'd defend better than our defensive unit combined. They need a couple of superstar names to come in for our back third. It will take Oil Sheikh type of money, but that's what it takes nowadays. Brad Jones is a below average keeper with nervous hands. Joe Allen is skinny, short, can't defend, can't pass, can't play. On top of that he has a shoulder injury. Why play him when you've got Hendo? Who cares, play him out of position, anything is better than Allen. It was just an ugly game. Funny how we play long ball when Carra wasn't even playing. Rodgers, I hope this is a humbling game. You pulled a McHale tonight and went full r****d on your roster selection. On the bright side. Coutinho and Suarez looked to be the only two who actually gave effort. Cou has a bright future. Excited for him. One more thing, I hope on our next win, none of our stupid players would make r****ded comments like "we have a chance for the top 4". Looking at you Gerrard. Rodgers needs to shut up and stop criticizing his players through the press. He deserves most of the blame today.
QPR relegated. Wonder what all their players are going to do. There are a bunch of guys on their roster, some big time transfers, I can't see wanting to play in the 2nd division in England for a year.
Yeah, it's like half of the squad is probably leaving. Taraabt, Park, Cesar, Cisse, SWP, Bosingwa, Traore, Zamora, etc., etc., etc. Most will probably go to other leagues, though I think Taraabt would be good for LFC.
So guess it's off for this season....but next season is surely Pool's year. Also, it's written in kopite scriptures: 1) Then the twenty years of plenty came an end, and twenty years of famine set in. 2) The land was barren: nothing flourished, and no glory came upon the Kopites. 3) And the Kopites saw the glory of their neighbours to the cast, the Devil-Worshippers, and they saw the wealth of the Philistines in the south, who were Muscovites from the house of Chav. 4) Then the Kopites suffered bitterly, and grievously did they pity themselves. 5) And the people came unto the Lord, wailing and rending their garments, which were made from shells. 6) And the Lord said, “Why are you come before me, crying and wailing? Wherefore do you rend your garments that are made from shells?” 7) And the people cried, “Behold, 0 Lord, we suffer bitterly, like. 8 ) For Thou hast brought wealth upon the Philistines, and glory t the Devil-Worshippers up the road; but in Thy anger Thou hast forsaken us Kopites, what were once blessed in Thy sight and that.” 9) But the Lord replied, “how is it that I have forsaken you, when I have poured such bounty upon your heads?” 10) But when the people looked about them they saw no riches, nor the shining trophies of battle. And they protested unto the Lord, crying, “Where is this bounty then, 0 Lord, of which Thou fuchen speakest?’ 11) And the Lord replied, “Yea, the bounty of the Lord is as the rain, that is drained into the sands of the desert. For it is all gone on the likes of Bruno Chcyrou.” 12) But the people wept, and they no longer had faith in the Lord, and banished Him from their sight. 13) And the Lord went from that place, and two new Lords came from far away in the West. 14) And the new Lords said that They would lead the people to salvation. 15) Then the people bent over before them, and were overjoyed, raising their voices in praise and saying, “We’re proper sorted now, Ia. We’re gonna win the league.” 16) Now it had come to pass in this time that they exalted the prophet Raphael, who was their leader. 17) For under his rule they had fought a battle of many nations, and in the land of Lud they strove against the Berlusconians. 18) And lo, though they were almost destroyed, they fought back and vanquished the enemy, thanks to Stevie G. 19) Then the Kopites made an idol of Raphael, proclaiming that he was their saviour and that by his sword they would come forth in the land. 20) But in the end they came fifth. 21) Now when they saw that the might of the Kopites was nigh restored, all the tribes trembled. 22) But the King of the Devil-Worshippers did not tremble: he was crafty, and in his wisdom he sent a madness upon Raphael. 23) Then Raphael became as a man who dreams, speaking ii tongues and seeing visions. 24) And he squandered the wealth of the people on lame and useless servants. 25) For he brought to their camp El That and Ngog, Degen and Bar-Ragan. And he brought Yossi the Israelite, who had settled west of the land of 11am, and Babel, in whose name men built a tower. 26) And he brought many, many more. 27) And soon Raphael feared to venture forth, lest he be vanquished, but exhorted his servants only to defend the camp. 28) Then all the tribes came to loathe the Kopites, because they were so boring. 29) So the people came before the t Lords and said, “Won’t Ye tight Yanks giz some ackers, that Raphael may bring further glory to the people?’ 30) And the Lords replied, “Behold, We have given him millions and millions of shekels. But in his madness, he spent it on Glen the son of John, and Aquilani the Roman. And lo, he squandered it on Josemites. Now the bounty of the Lords is gone, for he hath spunked it on absolute garbage.” 31) But the people were not satisfied, and they wrote screeds of righteous indignation, and kept saying things about ‘net spend’. 32) So the Lords cast out Raphael, and sent for the prophet Roy, renowned for his steady hand and his outstretched arm and his good relations with the press. 33) But the people were in mourning for Raphael: they loved him greatly and pitied him. And they did pity also themselves. 34) For they were blind to his madness, seeing only his triumph against the Berkisconians years before. 35) And Roy was an old man, and the Kopites lost countless battles. 36) And the people went berserk, and threatened to come into the house of the Lords and do Them harm. 37) But it came to pass that They were skint, and soon the moneylenders drove Them from the temple. 38) And so yet another Lord came among the Kopitcs, and lie cast aside Roy and sent for that ancient King who had lead the Kopites a full score years before. 39) Then the people rejoiced, and cried, “This time we’re pure flichen sorted, la. We’re gonna win the league.” 40) And there was Laughter across the land.
^^Damn breh, that's a whole lot of effort put into a single hate post. Kudos though. I also don't identify myself with Pool fans. I've worked for LFC and I've met plenty of Pool fans. I don't like most that I've met and the YNWA song puts me to sleep. But yes, the future looks bright for this club, assuming we keep our core players (Suarez especially). You can rag on the fans all you like, I couldn't care any less.
In Wait For Next Season mode... And you are not keeping Suarez without any prospect of European football. Be prepared for pitchforks and shirt-burning pyres in the summer transfer window.
If he leaves, he leaves. I hope he succeeds wherever he goes, he deserves it. Probably not in England because of the way the English media has treated him. However he says he likes it in LFC and management says he'll give one more season to club. I know his Uruguay teammates say otherwise, but I hope he stays for another season. If we don't make top 4 by then, then we deserve a lot less. However even if he leaves, I think the release clause is something like 25mil or something? LFC will be ok. They may not be a top 4 next season if he leaves, but Sturridge is looking good and Coutinho has got me excited again. The reason why fans keep saying next season is because the club would show flashes of brilliance midseason and teases the fans with a "maybe" top 4 contention, but then spas out in the end. I hope next season will be different. Any sane fan would think the same if their favorite club used to be a European force not too long ago. Now if Pool turns into NUFC, then you'd hear a lot less from the fans.
Fair enough, you are the first reasonable scouse fan I have encountered in a long time (in that part of Africa where I'm from, roughly half of the population are United fans and the other half are Pooll fans; the derby is a national event). This is very refreshing compared to the crazed trolls on Red And White Kops.
