I'm also a musician who regularly performs live on stage, and I completely agree with Cannonball's assessment. They're a terrible live act. I do think that there were sound system issues nontheless, but that was separate from the fact that these guys simply suck at doing a live show. There have been bands that I thought were awesome after hearing them on CD, but never quite appreciated just how good they were until I got to see them live on stage. Anybody can be made to sound good in the studio as long as you've got a catchy beat, decent lyrics and a producer worth his salt. Being able to go up on stage in front of a crowd requires innate talent. And these guys don't have it, period.
Green Day puts on a very good live show, they're popular enough, enough anthemic-type songs- that would be my pick.
just horrible vocals. it's like all 4 are singing 4 different things in 4 diff notes and pitch. doesn't help they are screaming also.
I don't see any difference than last years in terms of your "innate talent". Oh, that one, i saw an innate stuff when the bra malfunctioned.
As far as liking the Black Eyed Peas in general? Maybe not. As far as thinking the halftime show was good? You most definitely are.
Actually... by what most people have said around the internet... it was a terrible performance. So yes for that performance, you are a minority.
Did you really just say that the Black Eyed Peas have comparable musical talent to The Who? With a name like Prince, a guy that has more talent in his fingernail than that entire piece of garbage group we saw last night, I would expect better.
You answered Cannonball but not Harrisment. So you are saying that the Black Eyed Peas have more musical talent than The Who?? Seriously??!!
This is what you said: You do realize that The Who played at last years Superbowl halftime show?? Even if all that was left of them was Pete Townshend, he still has more talent in the snot that is in his nose than anybody in the BEPs have in their whole bodies. The rest of your posts was about "reading the entire thread" and "recent discussion about the group's talent". So, I have to conclude that you do think that the BEPs have more musical talent than The Who. Unless you really are a girl poster which would explain your evasiveness at providing a straight answer.
Just give it up Prince. You have the musical taste of a preteen girl. Collectively this thread failed at music... Well the 2 pages I read anyway. Greenday and The Killers? Really?
Absolutely Green Day. Have you been to a Green Day concert? I took my son and that was certainly one of the most energetic concerts I've ever been to. Do they have popular songs everybody knows? Of course: When I Come Around Basket Case Longview Boulevard of Broken Dreams When September Ends Holiday 21 Guns etc. Remember, we're not talking about personal favorites (my set list would be obscure tracks from Dookie, Nimrod, etc.). We're talking about a band that's relatively young, has songs that are extremely well-known, and will go up there and kick a**. Green Day fits into all of those categories. I mean, a band like the Foo Fighters is great, but I wouldn't say their songs are as well-known as Green Day's- so they would be my logical choice.
