exactly, the more overproduced music is, the worse it is live. and BEP take overproduction to a whole new level.
It was laughably bad. Just pathetic. I'd like to officially start the campaign for David Bowie to perform at the Super Bowl next year.
WTF do yall expect??? It's the freaking superbowl where millions of people are watching!! You can't have one show that everyone likes. Sheesh.
I actually like the BEPs (though not their last two albums) but that halftime show really just sucked. As has already been said, their style of music is not something than can be replicated well live. Add to that the poor technical production and you get a major fail. I would take the old rockers of the previous years any day because, while it's safe, it's at least authentic. I get that you want to appeal to a wide audience, but surely there are groups out there that are both relevant and actually good live.
Yeah the BEP sucked. U2 in 2002 was amazing, the best superbowl halftime ever IMO. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/og0V1UtjPt4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Yes, I understand that. I personally didn't find it in good taste myself. I'm just saying it's impossible to do a halftime show that will make everyone happy. Some people loved this halftime show, and some didn't. You're not gonna make everyone happy.
But can't the Super Bowl people figure out a way to make the instruments be heard on TV. It sounded like the singers were singing a capella. Biggest show of the year and they couldn't get the sound right? Fail fail fail.
Two things stuck with me about that show. When did the Borg assimilate the Black Eyed Peas and the stage reminded me of the carbonite freezing facility from Empire Strike's back. I was wondering if they freeze Usher at the end of the show. And the best halftime show ever was Prince a few years ago.
Personally, I would have liked Aerosmith alone. No, nsync, or crap like that. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/GnlDSQ_524Q" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Lmao!!!! Epic Fail!!! The Anthem represents America and it's fight for freedom, and an American by the name of Christina Aguilera just straight jacks it up. That's America for you folks.
What do you expect, Dallas is always a failure. She failed teh country once by killing a president, they failed again tonight.
They did better! They found one show that nobody liked! Even though the whole show reeked of dead fish, Fergie was just awful. How she ever made the music scene baffles me.
why do they have to keep getting pop acts (and worst, terrible pop acts like the Black Eyed Peas. I've seen much more criticism than I have praise...) and classic rock acts? Theres such thing as modern rock... The Foo Fighters, Green Day, Muse, Pearl Jam, or maybe even Coldplay would all be good choices for next year. And if they have to go with something else, then I think Kanye would be a good option. Or a Kanye/Jay-Z joint show. Those are the only two hip-hop/pop options I could really be ok with.
