How sad is it that Seattle finally gets a legit receiver and then ships out their only halfway competent QB.

I'd probably take Tarvaris over Hasselbeck at this point in their careers.

Tyler Thigpen going to the Bills.

Word. Rice would've been a great deep threat for Hasselbeck and they would have benefited each other really well. I was hoping Rice would stick around with McNabb coming in since that's also a good combo that could have helped each other.

The departure of Rice really hurts the Vikings receiving group. I like Percy Harvin but he's not a #1 wide receiver. He's an injury-prone play maker best suited as a slot receiver who benefited a lot from Rice and Moss stretching the field. Bernard Berrian as a main #2 option? Yuck. Minnesota probably has the leagues worst WR's now along with Raiders and Browns. They need help bad.

RT @AdamSchefter: Filed to ESPN: Washington traded DT Albert Haynesworth to the New England Patriots for a fifth-round pick in 2013.

I just got out of work and heard Mike and Mike talking about Haynesworth on the Pats, and was like, "Huh?"

Talk about epic fail on their part. First McNabb for a 6th, now this. And Shanahan spent his first year losing the respect of the locker room treating those two like crap and refusing to trade Haynesworth.

As frustrated I get about ours, thank every god out there we aren't saddled with Snyder & Friends.

    Wow...

If anybody can squeeze some productivity out of that turd, it's New England. Scary.

Redskins on FIRE in Free Agency:

    Re-signed WR Santana Moss
    Signed DT Barry Cofield
    Signed WR Donte Stallworth
Signed QB Kellen Clemons (former Jets QB, mobile but inaccurate)
    Signed WR Brandon Stokley
Signed CB Josh Wilson (was on Ravens last yr)
Traded LB Jeremy Jarmon to Denver for WR Jabber Gaffney
Traded QB Mcnabb to Minny for two 6th round draft picks
Traded DT Haynesworth to New England for a 5th round draft pick
    Cut verteran C Casey Rabach

    Now word is....

    @incarceratedbob

**BREAKING NFL NEWS**Source: As reported yesterday C Jenkins will be finalizing a deal with the Redskins - Bonus issues seemed taken care of

Now we need to improve our Oline and I'll be happy. We've done alot but still have money left over, a good 15-20m in cap room.

The Shanahan part is hard to say. Did he really lose the respect of the locker room? What I've read is a lot of the players are on his side, despite the former players on ESPN trying to make this a coach problem. Heck, one of their players even told a newspaper this week he was excited to not have the "Haynesworth headache" on the team this year.

Shanahan has years of credibility built up and his players have generally loved him. I don't think malcontent Haynesworth and whiny McNabb are going to ruin his standing.

Edit: And would you really RATHER be the Texans? 1 winning season in 10 years and no playoffs vs two winning seasons in 10 years and two playoff appearances.

    Without a doubt yes.

The Redskins have the worst owner in all of pro sports IMO.

Not sure I can agree. I know he gets labeled as such, but for the idea that the Skins have such a horrible owner, they get players to go play for them, the work the cap very well, and their results aren't any worse than the Texans since the inception of the franchise.

I also don't think there is any clear reason to believe one team is heading in the right direction while the other isn't.

I'd rather have Bob "Awe Shucks" McNair than Dan "Satan" Snyder.

inept + decent human being > inept + evil sum'b****

btw, since the post-david carr era: (when I officially stopped honoring the "expansion franchise" excuse)

    Texans: 31-33

    Redskins: 27-38

If I had to bet one of those franchises going forward, I'd bet on the Texans.
