I agree. I think Peterson is the best defensive back prospect since Charles Woodson.

Play close attention to how the Texans win meaningless games down the stretch to move out of range for all of the true gems in the draft.

Really wish they went Dez Bryant followed by CB in round two, in fact I was calling for it the draft thread last year.

Besides, how cool would it be to have Patrick Peterson and Patrick Patterson drafted in the first round in the same city in consecutive years?

I wish we could please see Troy Nolan start the rest of the season, just to see if we need a free safety in the draft or not. Otherwise, please draft some secondary help early and often. It's so frustrating with this team because we have the pieces, for some reason, nobody is living up to what they should be...at least not all at the same time.

Oh, and, my big point, is this:

Please, PLEASE, PLEASE GOD IN HEAVEN bring in some veteran help and leadership. You know, a few players who have been to the playoffs and possibly the Superbowl. Maybe even a few players in the secondary that fit this bill. It's one thing to have a team of youngsters loaded with potential, but until they get the winning attitude (yeah, the one that can't be faked...like our team did for the first two weeks this season) instilled in the locker room, that's all we're gonna be. Potential.

Heres another scouting report for ya.....take a guess who it is...

    Strengths:
At (height) and (weight), xxx is a physical specimen never before seen at the xxx position. xxx has superior arm strength and throws an exceptional deep ball. He has excelled in two seasons at xxx, but he did have outstanding weapons at his disposal.

    Weaknesses:
xxx must work on cleaning up his delivery as he jumps to the next level. He is still very raw as a passer and will likely struggle greatly early in his career at reading complicated NFL defenses. xxx probably has a high "bust factor" due to his lack of experience passing the ball in a pro style offense.

    Overall:
The all-time passing leader in Alabama high school history, xxx's physical attributes are his biggest plus and give him the chance to be a truly elite quarterback at the next level. He could easily be one of the best in the NFL in a short amount of time. xxx grades out favorably to other recent first round quarterbacks.

Give up? Anyway, I guess im trying to say that dont always believe the hype...

If season ended today, we'd be picking between 11-14

It's unfathomable for us to end up with anything better than the #6 slot.

    I'd guess that we'll pick around #9

I'd personally most want to see a stud DT (really, NT) or safety. Bad year for elite DTs, though. Not a banner year for safeties or franchise (offensive) tackles, either.

Maybe a DE that moves Smith inside. Can't see them taking a CB a second straight year. Amukamara would be nice if he slipped a little.

In a non-need position, Julio Jones or AJ Green would look amazing opposite Andre and be an heir apparent.

Wouldn't be a terrible decision to move back and try and get an additional second for our trouble. We have a lot of holes to fill on D, and that might get us 3 competent starters. 1 franchise guy can't make up for 5 losers around him. Roll back and get Mark Barron late in the first.

    FS, DT, C

We don't need another rookie CB, we need a veteran.

If the rookie corner is a stud, why not?

I would like a couple vets added. A corner and a DT. They still need 2 DT. That way they could focus on FS, DT, and C in the first 3 rounds

After watching this latest display of terrible defense. This next draft better be 7 rounds of just cornerbacks and safeties. Damn our secondary is absolute garbage.

If the Texans cant draft a top CB.. Petersen or Prince, they should draft Von Miller

If we can't get our hands on Peterson or Prince, I'd take A.J. Green, then draft a solid cover corner in rd. 2.

Dallas won today which is good news for us. There only 1 game back now. Need to root for all the teams under 4 wins going from here

#13 Houston Texans: Janoris Jenkins, CB, Florida
The Texans have one of the worst defenses we've seen in a long time. So, how do you fix it?

First of all, Zach Diles needs to go. He's a horrific weakside linebacker who's a major liability in coverage. An upgrade at nose tackle is desperately needed. Two new safeties (particularly a free safety) have to be found. Another pass-rusher wouldn't hurt.

And then there's the cornerback position. Glover Quin cannot be allowed to start anymore. I don't even have any beef with his awful attempt to bat down David Garrard's Hail Mary; he can't tackle whatsoever, as evidenced by Zach Miller's 51-yard touchdown in the Jacksonville game.

Janoris Jenkins, the best player available who fills a need, would give Houston another top-flight corner across from Kareem Jackson. Hopefully Jackson isn't inept next year...
