I thought the Titans were crazy for not trading back to take Locker later in the draft, but after watching Minnesota take Ponder 12th, I'm glad they didn't. Locker was the QB I wanted over any other QB in the draft.

I've watched him, and I've watched Cam Newton and Blaine Gabbert, and Locker is better than both of them. Locker can run, and he can make any throw. Everyone wants to focus on his accuracy, but the real concern is his ability to read coverages.

    I thought it was hilarious.

That JJ Watt is gonna be one hell of a punt coverage player.

I think Newton will be a bust. I was hoping that the Eagles would target a CB but I can understand the need for OL too. I'm reaching but I hope they trade up somehow and find a way to get Bowers but probably won't happen, I could see the Patriots snatching him up pretty quickly.

Falcons trading up to #6 and getting Julio Jones was a big surprise. But i felt the Falcons gave up a lil too much to move up to #6 also.

Couple thoughts on the 1st round:

    1. LOL at the Titans. Just an unbelievable reach for a QB who has a ton of questions marks. There was a premium on QBs but this pick will set the Titans back for a while if it doesn't pan out.

    2. I had to rewind the details of the Browns-Falcons trade just to make sure I heard it correctly. Julio is an elite prospect but that was a LOT to give up for him or for any prospect IMO. Was initially mad that Cleveland pass since I was really hoping for a Colt-Julio combo but the deal was too good to pass up.

    3. Lions were the clear winners IMO. I wasn't too high on Fairley as some others and evidently 12 other teams felt the same. But to grab Fairley at #13 is great value and a Suh-Fairley combo has huge potential.

That's funny...I wondered why MI was still around and I think a good pick-up for the saints...

Ponder that early was nuts...Dalton will be a good pick-up today for somebody...

The Patriots are my adopted team after the Texans and I have some northeast ties. So I follow New England very closes and here's my assessment of their first round moves.

    #17 Nate Solder
Once again Belichick left a lot of people scratching their heads with this pick. Many had him taking 3-4 end as just compensation for trading Seymour because the Patriots lack a true pass rusher. However, Belichick sees things differently, he wants to protect his golden goose Brady at all cost. Some people here said that the Patriots are wasting Brady's window for another couple of Super bowls, but in fact keeping him healthy is the only way they will get to the big game in the first place. So here taking an OT with Matt Light the free agency market and possibly not returning, makes great sense. Plus, Solder has the most potential of any of the OTs in the first round. Combine that with the best offensive line coach in the league in Scarnecchia and you have recipe for success. Just look at the Patriots history with offensive line like Logan Mankins and Sebastien Vollmer who by all account now looks like a complete steal in the middle of the 2nd round. That is the art of the Belichick trade down where he gets 1st round talent at a bargain price.

    #28 Trade to New Orleans for 2012 1st and 2011 2nd round.
So many people once more screaming saying Belichick is overrated, but once again they fail to realize what The Hoodie just did. With the run on QBs in early first round, so much talent had slipped into the late and early second round, the Belichick felt he could trade down and still get value with his plethora of 2nd round picks. Now he has 2 first rounders in 2012 plus he picked up a free 2nd rounder this year and yet he could still get the guy he was targeting at #28 at the top of the 2nd round. Beautifully orchestrated.

    #33 Prediction: Trade down

This where Belichick adds another first rounder for 2012 cause Mallett and Dalton are going to be at premium at the top of the second. Most likely the Seahawks or Cardinals make the move. So Belichick will quietly take more picks, move back and here's what I think he will do: take a chance with Da'Quan Bowers in the middle of the 2nd round. Why? Cause he has 3 first round picks in the next draft so he can afford to gamble with an elite pass rusher like Bowers. If it pans out, then it probably goes down as one the biggest steals in NFL history or else Belichick is back here again next year with multiple picks to once again play his game of poker.

He'll probably add another linebacker Brooks Reed, RB Ryan Williams, or WR Titus Young with his remaining 2nd round pick.

Former players will announce the 2nd round picks. Aaron Glenn will announce the Texans pick.

Raiders do covet Kaepernick, but probably didn't want to keep sending their future picks to Belichick.
