If the Cavs want to improve quickly they can use that trade exception along with West's contract to go get Michael Redd. I am pretty positive Redd can be had. Then you sign Barnes in free agency and you at least have a decent competitive team.
I agree - but Redd won't even be back on the court until February. So there is certainly no reason to trade for him before the trade deadline anyway. I'd also add that they have quality guys coming off the bench like Delonte West, Daniel Gibson, Leon Powe and JJ Hickson.
To get the #4 pick, you have to be one of the 4 worst teams in the entire NBA. The Knicks aren't THAT bad. If they have a shot at the 4th pick, the Rockets will actually have to sweat out the lottery, hoping they don't get #1. Still, I'll take my chances though.
some of the worst teams were made better this offseason. wizards getting john wall, clippers getting blake griffin. nets should be better etc. this team is new from the ground up they will lose a lot of game. just wait and see
say amare goes down for 1/2 the season's games and they get the 5th worst record among teams that don't make the playoffs. i wonder if stern has the balls to weather the inevitable storm of conspiracy accusations and give the knicks the #1 pick anyways
