The Knicks are screwed...haha. No Lebron, No Wade, no Bosh. Staudemire is NOT good enough....especially without Nash. You will find out how much he missed Nash....his game will deteriate. And to add insult to injury, we got their draft picks....haha...lol

If the trade with GS goes down, they will be in the mix for a lower playoff seed.

As long as the draft lotto is done behind a curtain it really does not matter if the pick(s) are in the lottery they have a chance of being taken away. The NBA wants/needs a "team" in that large of a market.

    Boniero's East Power Ranking:

    Heat
    Celtics
    Magic
    Hawks
    Bulls
    Bobcats
    Bucks
    Knicks
    Pistons
    Wizards
    Sixers
    Pacers
    Nets
    Cavs
    Toronto

The problem is that after Bucks and Bobcats there is a steep decline with teams 8-15. Given certain circumstances the Knicks could even make the playoffs.

I have a bad feeling they will be a little better than you think and they haven't completely filled out their roster quite yet. What Im hoping for is at worst a pick next year from the Knicks in the mid teens which would not be all that bad. If Yao's healthy the rockets own pick should be in the mid 20s to lower 20s, but hopefully higher. So that would be a nice draft pick swap for the rockets to get back up to the mid teens in next years draft.

The GSW trade was a dud for the Knicks. They desperately needed the depth it brought considering the circumstances, but I hate (love) the actual package for them. They didn't get enough for a workhorse like Lee.

Turiaf and Azubuike are real professionals, but neither are starters and don't bring what NY really needs: defense and playmaking. They're basically filler. Decent filler, but injury prone.

Anthony Randolph is the wild card. He's got amazing talent, but is immature. He's needs solid vets around to keep him in check and there are none to be found on the Knicks roster. Also, he's plays the same position as Amare, which might hinder his development. They could play Amare at center, but then they'd be the 04-05 Phoenix Suns without Nash, Joe Johnson, or Marion. Yikes!

Our pick depends on how they use the rest of their cap space. But the free agent market looks pretty bare at this point and the Bulls, Nets, and Clippers still have cap space of their own. I'm think this team wins 33 games.

I don't know about the Knicks depends on Amare. Their supporting cast is actually becoming pretty decent (especially with Golden State trade).

    Amare

    Anthony Randolph
    Ronny Turiaf
    Kelenna Azubuike

    Danillo Gallinari
    Wilson Chandler
    Toney Douglas
    Bill Walker
    Eddy Curry

In the long run, they are better off filling out their roster. I actually they can be good enough to reach as high 6 (Heat, Magic, Celtics, Hawks, Bulls), as is.

I think their style will give Boston alot of fits, they might be a player or two away from being equal to Atlanta.

Remember, the Cavs fall out of playoff picture most likely, while I think Knicks are good enough to surpass the Bucks and Bobcats.

And what's decent about that? Anthony Randolph is nice if you pick him up on the cheap and can hope he develops into something special - but they're going to have to count on him. Ronny Turiaf is garbage. Kelenna Azubuike is okay off the bench.

Danillo Gallinari might be the only guy on the team not named Amar'e that I even think deserves to start in the NBA.

First, I think the Knicks will be significantly worse this season than they were last season. I think losing guys like Lee, Duhon and Harrington is going to hurt them more than people are acknowledging. But for the sake of argument, let's say they're just as good. I still don't think they'l surpass any of the teams you mentioned. Here's why:

Honestly, the Cavs are still probably going to win close to 40 games. As amazing as Lebron is, he can't be responsible for all 61 games they won. They have a solid if not remarkable team. Guys like Antawn Jamison and Mo Williams are good enough to lead that solid cast of roleplayers to some wins. And I am willing to bet they'll be playing with a chip on their shoulder.

As for the Bucks - are you crazy? The Bucks got better this off-season. Drew Gooden may have been over-paid, but he brings more quality size to their rotation and he's capable of having very big nights. They added Corey Maggette for practically nothing. Same with Chris Douglas Roberts. And Jennings will continue to improve and become more consistent. In my opinion, he's one of the bright young stars of the league. They are a stronger and deeper team than they were last season. And they made the playoffs last season.

The Bobcats are more questionable. A lot has to do with whether or not Larry Brown returns. It's also clear they're interested in making some roster changes and I'm not sure what those changes will be. Regardless, Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace are better than anything on the Knicks roster including Amar'e Stoudemire. So long as that is true, I am pretty confident the Bobcats will be a better team than the Knicks.

right on man. people in this thread are way way WAY overestimating the Knicks. that lineup is not that great. people are going to be coming at amare hard every game. not to mention the fact that these have hardly played one game with each other.

I'm afraid Perry Jones is going to wind up being #1 pick over Harrison Barnes.

Knicks going to sign Felton, who basically has one good season in his contract year. They're going to fill most of their cap now. Knicks roster is set, barring an unexpected super trade(one that Morey can and should cockblock given our greater number of assets).

And the verdict is... THEY SUCK!

    Felton, Douglas
    Chandler, Rautins
    Gallo, Azubuike, Walker
    Amare, Randolph, Fields
    Curry, Turiaf

It'll be a contract year for Curry. So we know he'll be motivated this season.

I don't see how they get better with that trade. David Lee was their best player.

Felton should join the Rockets summer league team. No, really, I don't know which team is better.

    Felton
    Bill Walker
    Danilo Gallinari
    Anthony Randolph
    Amare

    Felton
    Jermaine Taylor
    Chase Budinger
    Patrick Patterson
    Jordan Hill

7 game series, who wins? I honestly don't know.

Well they got Amare to replace him and then they picked up Randolph who has a load of talent and Azubuike and others that can play too.

They got a lot better.....not contender better but around .500ish better, IMO.

Which is actually great because their pick will come to us for sure as they won't have the number 1 pick overall.

    ;)
