Are the Knicks going to kill their entire capspace for the FAs still out there? Or do they keep it for Melo? They may have $13 mil of capspace, but there isn't exactly a "$13-14 mil player" who fit them neatly. They can sign Mike Miller for what, $8 mil?

The only way I see the Knicks use that space is by going for a home run, ala CP3 or Parker. If they use it on some normal rotation player, then they're still going to suck.

Some writer wrote about the Knicks overpaying players to get them to sign 1 yr contracts. I'm guessing if they do that they're holding out for Melo.

And they can't get CP3 or Parker through trade. They simply don't have the assets. There isn't really any desirable young talent on that team. And they don't even have picks to give up because we've got their picks.

It's a move that improves their team. Which is bad for the Rockets. Alternatively, the Heat don't get Miller. They don't need to get any better, LOL.

    Not that bad.

    Douglas/Rautins
    Chandler/Azubuike
    Gallinari/ /Fields
    Randolph/
    Amare/Turiaf/Jordan

And they will improve (trades with Al Harrington/Curry and other signings)

Best Case Scenario is Knicks tank only to get the #2 in the lottery. By tank, I mean be their normal selves. Playing in the stout East I think worst case has to be 8-10 range.

Teams NY is better than right now: NJ, Toronto, Detroit, LAC, GS, Minn. That's the 7 pick. Not sure that Amare makes them that much better.

Improve their team? They are a lottery team at best with that duo. Stoudemire and Miller aren't scaring anybody.

you guys are underestimating the power of the tank. NYK has no reason to tank, that reason alone is worth at least 10 wins because other NBA teams will definitely be tanking this season.

So you're saying that NY actually won 19 games last season rather than 29? Damn, I think I just overvalued them! :p

Silver Lining in LeBron Going to Miami. (DRAFT 2011)

As "The Decision" has come and gone and the euphoria has taken South Beach, there is one other team smiling in all this. That would be your beloved Houston Rockets. All the sudden, that Tracy McGrady trade becomes overwhelmingly lop-sided with Daryl "The Wizard" Morey looking like a genius once again. All the sudden those 1st round picks we picked up from NY look even more attractive. While the Rockets were shut-out from the FA bonanza this summer, the Rockets certainly have things to look forward as next year's draft appears deep with talent and the Rockets all the sudden find themselves with ample ammunition when sitting at the trade table.

While many analysts have Harrison Barnes at the top of the class, there are certainly other players to keep tabs on. They are as follows:

    Perry Jones http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quxsxSe1YTo
6'11, SF (best player in the class IMO, combination of athletic ability, skills is unheard of for a kid of his size...think Lamar Odom handles with a young McGrady's springs)

    Kyrie Irving http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxZrFy6Uw3I
    6'1, PG

    CJ Leslie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYLbHRJPjyQ
    6'8, SF

    ....more to come!

But in the end what does it matter if Miami becomes a dynasty (very possible) and wins it all?

yes if the Knicks had their draft pick they could have easily won less than 19 games last season.

East is by far much stronger now. They get even worse now. Chicago is better, Miami, Boston the same, Cleveland got replaced by Miami and Atlanta is the same and Milwaulki got better by adding someone too. Knicks picks got alot better IMO.

So what, we should pack up the league now that a super team has formed. Maybe this is the deal that helps propell us to the finals and maybe beat a stacked Heat team.

Miami has a target on them now. Build up your team and beat the Heat and get all the glory.

I only wish LeBron had decided earlier, then the Knicks would not have wasted their money on Amare and instead gone into full tank mode.
