See, at first you probably wanted to like Mumford, because they're almost like an indie band.

Then, you realized their music actually had some rhythm and flow to it, and sounded put together and good, so you stopped liking them....

    Am I right?

They are far from "indie". Any band who runs ads for their album on TV is definitely not indie.

Repetitive lyrics with little substance. Arrogant lead singer who puts his own name in the band. They look like a British wannabe Arcade Fire / Kings of Leon.

    In short, hipster kitty disapproves.

Post awards presser. Houston gets a mention at around 2:25.

meanwhile you spew c*m all over your underoos whenever you hear that "music" put out by animal collective. the sound from my ass while dropping a hangover duece after a night of wheat beer and spicy wings is more listenable than that tripe.

All I know is the Wolf Blitzer dude blabbing followed by the dead people segment followed by Mick Jagger was easily the low-point of the night.

At that point, I had seen enough. I caught the rest later. Speaking of which, it was pretty cool doing a midnight "Arcade Fire" Google search. Album of the Year, eh?

Cool. Seemed very gracious. Very "un-hip" of them. :)

I never realized that Tom Petty, Dave Matthews, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and others were so arrogant.

I agree with moes, I think these guys are overrated.

I also agree with fatty that arcade fire is overrated, they don't look like rock stars, they look like people you find on the street selling hippie jewelry or eating vegan burgers.

Even Radiohead is recognizable, everybody knows Tom Yorn.

Ig'nant.. it's well deserved, if you think Katy Perry, or Lady Antebellum deserved it, or anyone else on the list deserves it then i question your sexuality.

it's time for change, i love eminem, he's sick, but theres nothing new about his music, its the same as all the other songs from the last 10 years..

Arcade Fire is a fresh sound.. even if you don't like them, it gives hope that someday Mainstream doesn't = garbage..*

*not a hipster statement, just stating the fact that i'm tired of this redundent Taio Cruz, Katy Perry, Nickleback, filled society

By the end of the Grammy Awards, I was ready to strangle all of "Lady Antebellum" cause that one song kept playing every time they won or were mentioned...not to mention they played it live. I cannot say I have ever gotten a song in and out of my system in one awards show...but I did. That song was driving me nuts.

I think Lady Antebellum and Sugarland are actually the same group.

Here's the video that first got me into Arcade Fire a couple years ago. Rebellion (Lies) at Coachella 2005.

    My favorite performances were:

'Jolene' by John Mayer, Keith Urban, and Norah Jones
'I Need a Doctor' by Eminem, Dre, and Skylar Grey
'Cold War' by Janelle Monae (Bruno Mars on drums)
