I gathered some here wanted Sweden for the women, but no one on that team looks good. Are there people on the bench that I've missed?
Not if they don't get the ball...the USA has come out flat in the last 3 games, they need to be much more aggressive from the jump against Japan. DD
Japan has one of the best mid fields in the game and they hold possession really well. They know their weakness is height and they take every angle and game plan they can to make sure it isn't exposed easily.
That's what the Germans thought as well... Japan reminds me a little bit of Barca with their size and playing style...
England showed how it's done, you gotta press them really aggressively so they can't build up. USA is the perfect mismatch imo, they gotta be top-notch though and use their body strength.
A lot like a female Barca...they really move the ball around, much more fun to watch that style than the pack it in counter style, or the cross to the stork style. DD
Yes, but we played pretty poor and didn't seem fit/agressive enough. You got to play that agressive pressing Inter played to beat Barca, it distracts them greatly and destroys their gameplan. Never let them keep the ball for too long, double them, build pressure and you have good chances.
Yup...if the US does not use their advantages and body them up and slow them down they they will have some serious problems because of how technically sound they are.
Japan is 0-22-3 against the USA all time and is 0-3 against them this year......hopefully the USA is not overconfident. DD
Uh..they scored goals in the opening minutes of the last 2 games. It was the middle 70 minutes or so that they've stunk. Yes, the goal against Brazil was an own goal, but it was created by pressing the ball through the midfield and up the lines...just as they did today. If they can get an early goal, again, and assert themselves physically, they should win rather easily.
I want to see the odds on the game...might have to throw 1k on it. I never thought I'd be so intrigued by women's soccer. Fml.
