Right! Rich guy loses sled. Casablanca Synopsis: A nightclub owner owns a nightclub. The Godfather Synopsis: The head of the family loves his family.
Oh, absolutely. The Godfather was a terrible movie with a bunch of 2nd-rate actors pretending to be tough guys- I mean, really, as if I'm supposed to be afraid of that shrimp Pacino, or the cheek-stuffing Brando? Really. All those epics are overblown- Godfather, the last Emperor, and especially that pretentious Braveshanks. What a wanker of a movie that was.
Brando was great in tons of movies. I love guys and dolls to this day. The Godfather, much like Rocky, is long-winded.
Agreed. Jobs vs. Gates? Far more educational on how "Internets" stopped being polite. I know Al Gore didn't create it, but I still recall modems in 1984. But they were only so you could talk to other idiot CPU users then. ie. It was pointless.
This coming from a person for whom Braveheart is his favorite movie, Oh, but Rocky, with all of its 100 minute screentime, is long-winded, but B.H. isn't? Classic. I would thoroughly enjoy seeing your Top 10 All-Time movie list. Here's mine, and I'll take a cue from FFB (well, 4 in the morning, FFB); anyone who thinks any of these movies is less than great is just a blithering idiot who has no taste in movies: 1. Taxi Driver 2. Citizen Kane 3. McCabe and Mrs. Miller 4. The Graduate 5. Vertigo 6. Nashville 7. Midnight Cowboy 8. Lost in America 9. 2001 A Space Odyssey 10. Apocalypse Now
I know Hathaway has that "it" factor and is actually a good actress, but I can't see her being Catwoman in Batman rises for 2012. Bring back nvm...
My thoughts exactly. I like each of them in movie roles, but hosting is an extremely difficult job, and they didn't pull it off.
I think bringing Billy Crystal out to pay tribute to Bob Hope further added insult to the choices for hosts this year. There's really only one big job the host has... the opening intro/monologue. That is it. The rest of the jokes/one-liners can be handled by the presenters if they have to. If they can't get anybody who can deliver a good openining intro/monologue consistently... then hollywood is full of people who think they are more talented than they really are.
I really wanted to like the hosts but I didn't think they did a good job. Franco just stood there with a dorky smile...hosting isn't his best suit.
I don't know of you've ever tried hosting or acting, but they are two different talents. Surely Hollywood has people that can host, but because two actors failed in the job doesn't mean Hollywood is full of people who think they have more talent than they do. Actually as I was typing that I believe Hollywood is full of people who think they have more talent than they do. But Franco and Hathaway bombing at the Oscars isn't the best evidence.
